Mrs. Hopkins -
Private funeral services will be held for Mrs. Millicent G. Hopkins, 92,
of 117 Leith Walk at 1 p.m. Friday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
The Rev. Frederick Vaill, pastor, United Church of Christ will
officiate. Burial will be in Center Cemetery.
No calling hours will be observed.
Born in Columbus, Pa., Oct. 18, 1879, she was the daughter of
Henry and Alma (Soggs) Gordon. She had been a Conneaut resident for
the past 25 years, having came here from Long Beach, Calif.
She is survived by three daughters Mrs. (Dr.) Walter (Esther)
Brown, with home she made her home; Mrs. Robert (Ines) Warren, Washington,
D.C.; Mrs. Jane Heddin, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, H. V. Hopkins, St.
Petersburg, Fla.; several grandchildren, including Scott Brown, Conneaut;
and Thomas Brown, a sophomore at Hiram College. Several
great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by her husband, Harry
Hopkins in 1951.
She died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday in Brown Memorial Hospital
where she had been a patient for the past 10 days. Her death was due
to a heart condition.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Brown Memorial
Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 1952; a
son, Roy, in 1961 and a sister, Ruby Johnson, in 1971.
Mrs. Hill died Wednesday afternoon at the home of
complications following a long illness.
