Harry Rockwell
CONNEAUT
— Harry Rockwell, 50, owner of Hi-Tech Automotive in Conneaut, Ohio, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, April 30, 2003, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital of an apparent coronary.
    
He was born February 24, 1953 in Conneaut, Ohio, a son of James, Sr. and Elaine (Julio) Rockwell.
     A lifelong Conneaut resident, he was a graduate of Conneaut High School and was an auto mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his family and drag racing. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and International Hot Rod Association, and raced the IHRA circuit, the Canadian Pro Mod Circuit, and match races. He was a former member of the Super-charged Warriors, and holds several track records at various racetracks.
     He is survived by his mother Elaine Rockwell of Conneaut; his wife Susan L. (Dittler) Rockwell whom he married October 11, 1975; three sons, Michael "Mickey" of Pittsburgh, PA, Bryan and Adam both of Conneaut; his sister Suzanne Pilcher and husband James of Abilene, TX; and two brothers, Joe Rockwell, Sr. and wife Nancy, and James Rockwell, Jr. and wife Sue all of Conneaut.
     He was preceded in death by his father in 1994; his grandparents, Charles and Olive Rockwell, and Joseph and Lydia Julio.
     Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas pastor of St. Mary and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Churches officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
    
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Conneaut Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Judith H. Pataky
ASHTABULA - Judith H. Pataky, 63, of Monroe Township, died Thursday morning, May 1, 2003, at Ashtabula County Medical Center, Ashtabula, following a six-month illness.
She was born January 3, 1940, in Conneaut, the daughter of Walter D. and Laina L. (Rankinen) Sharp.
A 1957 graduate of Conneaut High School, she was a lifelong Conneaut resident, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and a member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed gardening and home decorating. She was a dedicated caregiver to her extended family, and enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her companion and caregiver, Melton V. Holcomb of Monroe Township; two sons Robert "Rob" W. Pataky, Jr., and wife Sue, of Cortland, and Rodney "Rod' J. Pataky and wife Lorrie, of Bristolville; five grandchildren, Jill, Nicole, Ryley, Morgan, and Ethan; three sisters, Betty Jane Eloranto of Rantoul, IL, Peggy Valenti and Shirley Bunnell, both of Conneaut; and four brothers, Jean Richard, Ronald L., David G., and Robert B. Sharp, all of Conneaut.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert W. Pataky, Sr., on December 26, 1996; and two brothers, Walter B. Sharp, Jr., and William Sharp.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2003, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas of St. Mary and St. Frances Cabrini Churches officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.

Beatrice I. Shannon Colegrove
CONNEAUT
— Beatrice I. Shannon Colegrove, 91, of Conneaut, died Saturday morning, May 3, 2003, at the Harrington Care Home following a lengthy illness.
    
She was born March 22, 1912, in Cadillac, MI, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Baker) Hopkins.
     A Conneaut resident since 1941, she was employed in the laundry department at Brown Memorial Hospital for over 39 years. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     Survivors include her son, Phillip C. Shannon, and wife, Kay, of Conneaut; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Howard Shannon; her second husband, Robert E. Colegrove; and six brothers; and seven sisters.
     Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, with the Rev. Robert Leonard officiating.
     Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.

Lois Paulette Buckley
CONNEAUT
— Lois Paulette Buckley, 57, of Conneaut, Ohio, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, May 4, at her home. She was born March 12, 1946, in Greenville, PA, a daughter of Playford and Alice (Frazee) VanSickle.

Mrs. Buckley had lived in Conneaut for the past 18 years, having previously lived in Monroe Township and Pierpont, OH. She was a staff member at the Conneaut Human Resources Center, where she was director of the Conneaut food pantry and the HALO program in the Conneaut area. She was an active member of the Conneaut Church of God, where she served as coordinator of funeral dinners. She enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, and raising flowers.

She is survived by her mother, of Greenville, PA; her husband of 35 years, Larry Buckley; two daughters, Theresa Pierce and husband, Craig, of Conneaut, OH, and Shannon Salyer and husband, Dean, of Honor, MI; her son, Shane, and wife, Veronica, of Conneaut, OH; seven grandchildren, Spencer, David, Hannah, Alisha, Wade, Amanda, and Noah; and two brothers, Eugene VanSickle of North Kingsville, OH, and Lonnie VanSickle of Greenville, PA.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 9, at the Conneaut Church of God, 5327 Center Rd., Rt. 7, with the Rev. Raymond L. Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut, OH.

Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 9:30 until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolence Ministry at the Church of God. Rosella Grace Carle
KINGSVILLE — Rosella Grace Carle, 85, of E. Main Street, Kingsville, Ohio, died Monday, May 5, 2003, in the Ashtabula County Medical Center. Born April 6, 1918, in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of the late Alfred and Eleanor Madygesi, she had lived in Kingsville for 40 years and in Ocean Springs, MS, for 10 years. Mrs. Carle was a
homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, yardwork and canning. She was a member of the Kingsville Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Cleveland of Kingsville and Carol Keiper of Winchester, TN; a son, Roger Carle of Belle Chasse, LA; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Moskalik of Kalamazoo, MI, and Ethel Wright of Tampa, FL; and a brother, Charles Madygesi of Kalamazoo, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald E. Carle; three sisters, Lena Lawn, Edith Ufford, and Esther Pasic; and a brother, Al Madygesi.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Bonnie Habbersett, Pastor of the Kingsville Presbyterian Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Hines of the Kingsville Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Lulu Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made in her name to the Hospice of Ashtabula County or the Kingsville Presbyterian Church. CONNEAUT — John M. "Rebel" Rebera, 36, of Liberty St., Conneaut, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, May 19, 2003, of a probable coronary at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to his wife, Lynn L. Rebera. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

David B. Stump
NASHVILLE, TN — David B. Stump, 63, of La Vergne, TN, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville after an extended illness.
    
Born July 3, 1939, in Monroe Township, the son of Fred and Helen Johnson Stump. He attended Conneaut and Rowe schools.
     Mr. Stump served overseas in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division after graduation. Following discharge from the service, he attended Ashtabula Technical School under instructor Bill Ryan. Later, he was associated with IBM, Univac, and RCA. After a move back to this area, he worked in the computer repair field in Edinboro, PA, eventually opening a television repair business, Stump's TV, on Mill Street in Conneaut. After selling out, he traveled extensively, working with TV repair shops across the country. He was known for his ability to fix "just about anything."
      He loved to read and enjoyed writing songs, stories, and poetry. He also enjoyed playing music. During the '70s, he played bass with his brother, John, a well known fiddle player. Performances included: Stump's AMC Jeep remote broadcasts over radio station WWOW, with Ken Vaughn, and also at the annual WQLN–TV bluegrass show in Erie, PA.
     Survivors include two sons, James Stump and Jeffrey Stump of the Nashville area; a daughter, Darlene Michalski, of the Nashville area; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Benson of Conneaut; two brothers, Charles Stump of Conneaut, and Bailey Stump of Las Cruces, NM.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Stump.
     A celebration of his life will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at the Monroe Fire Hall, 4095 Center Rd., Conneaut. Donations can be made to the family or to Hospice.

Luella Adeline (Watson) Amzibel
ASHTABULA - Luella Adeline (Watson) Amzibel, 77, of Center Road, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at Ashtabula County Medical Center Hospice Unit.
She was born April 14, 1926, in Hartsgrove, the daughter of Guy and Ruby (Fish) Watson and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life.
A 1943 graduate of Pierpont High School, she was awarded a scholarship for her artistic accomplishments to John Nagy Institute of Graphics Arts.
She was a Merchant Marine (Coast Guard Division), belonged to the VFW Post 6846, the American Legion, Dewey Howlett Post #103 and was active in the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, the Anzio Beachhead Veterans of the 45th Infantry Division, as well as other local veteran's organizations.
In her younger years, she was a scout leader for Boy Scouts and and Cub Scouts and was involved with the John T. McMillan Chapter Order of DeMolay.
Mrs. Amzibel was a member of Mother of Sorrows Church and enjoyed sewing, bowling and her family. She loved Ming, her granddaughter dog and watching the Food Network.
Her survivors include one daughter, Sylvia L. (husband Samuel) Platt-Brazil of Ashtabula; two sons, Edward J. (wife Mary Louise) Amzibel of Dover, Delaware and Charles E. (wife Teresa) Amzibel AKA Dr. Chuck Stevens of Ashtabula; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including Robert M. "Mitch" Watson of Conneaut.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin M. Claus; her second husband, Edward Amzibel; three brothers, Quincy, Van and Spencer Watson; two sisters, Harriet Koch and Pearl Sterling; and her parents.
Funeral service will be at Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003. Rev. Fr. Philip Miller, Pastor of St. Joseph Church, will preside. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashtabula, Ohio.

Gatha M. Hill
JEFFERSON — Gatha M. Hill, 76, formerly of Creek Rd., Kingsville, Ohio, died Friday afternoon, May 9, 2003, at the Jefferson Geriatric Center.
    
She was born November 2, 1926, in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of G. S. and Gatha C. (Koontz) Sprouse.
     She moved to Monroe Township, Ohio, in 1945, and was employed as a receptionist at the front desk of the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, and also was employed at the former Astatic Corp. in Conneaut, Ohio, at one time. She was an active member of Kingsville First Baptist Church for nearly 50 years where she was a member of the ladies group, taught Bible school, and was involved in preparing meals for church functions. She helped start the Kingsville Garden Club and was a member of the Women's Club of Ashtabula. She enjoyed ceramics, raising flowers especially roses, traveling, and entertaining friends and groups in her home.
     Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Leehan and husband Harold of Jefferson, Ohio, and Judy Taylor and husband Dave of Silver City, NM; two sons, Arthur Hill and wife Mary of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Terry and wife Christine of Jefferson, Ohio; two sisters, Kathleen Broughton of Kingsville, Ohio, and Vernetta Crawford of St. Cloud, FL; her sister-in-law, Bonita Hill (Widow of Quentin Hill) of Clovis, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Tim Leehan of Jefferson, Ohio, Patrick Kamppi of Conneaut, Ohio, and Alyssa Hill and Jacob Hill both of Jefferson, Ohio.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald F. Hill, on June 2, 2002; and a daughter, Donna at birth.
     Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2003, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty Street, Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. David Hines of Kingsville First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.

CONNEAUT — Emma H. Eaton, 85, of Lake Road, North Kingsville, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at UHHS-Brown Memorial Hospital, Conneaut.
    
Born August 1, 1917, in Conneaut, the daughter of John and Anna (Major) Rindo, she had lived in the Conneaut–North Kingsville area all her life.
     Mrs. Eaton was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed playing Bingo, working crossword puzzles, and listening to music.
     Survivors include two sons, Richard A. of Conneaut, and Jerry J. of Arizona; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph A.; one daughter, Judy Bishop; two sisters, Mary Allshouse and Elsie Hudson; and two brothers, John and Anthony Rindo.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 16, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mary E. Titus
CONNEAUT
— Mary E. Titus, 89, of Conneaut, died Monday, May 12, 2003, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut.

Born July 6, 1913 in Coalton, West Virginia, the daughter of Modesto and Josephine (DeMaine) Markijohn.

She attended St. Mary grade school, and went on to work at the Goldette, and later at Pape's Restaurant, in the kitchen. She also enjoyed taking care of elderly people.

Mrs. Titus was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Conneaut, and also a former member of the Eagles Club. She enjoyed gardening and was wonderful at crocheting.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Titus; three sisters, Ann Gruzosky, Lebra Titus and Lena, in infancy; four brothers, Tony, Sam, Reuben, and Michael Markijohn.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2003, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 480 State St., Conneaut, with Father Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2003, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

Florine C. "Tootsie" Dames
CONNEAUT
— Florine C. "Tootsie" Dames, 72, of Conneaut, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at her residence.
    
Mrs. Dames was born November 2, 1930, in Conneaut, the daughter of Donald and Mary (Ruccolo) Taddeo. She attended Conneaut High School. She worked at the former Vendome's Bar & Grill, making pizza in the kitchen, and went on to work at the former Astatic Corp. as an assembler.
     She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Conneaut. She was a member of the C. D. of A., also. Mrs. Dames was a wonderful Italian cook, and enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family, friends, and grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping, watching the Food Channel, and loved to watch Emeril.
      Mrs. Dames was preceded in death by her parents.
     She is survived by her husband, Lawrence E. "Babe" Dames, whom she married November 27, 1953, in Kingsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Don J. and Lynette Dames of Ashtabula; a daughter, Lisa Dames of Conneaut; a brother, Anthony (Tony) Taddeo of Conneaut; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Jason, Logan and Shayla.
     A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2003, at St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, with Father John Summers, pastor emeritus, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.

Joseph A. Castrilla
CONNEAUT — Joseph A. Castrilla, 74, of Conneaut, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at his residence.
    
Born April 2,1929, in Conneaut, the son of Felix and Rose (Bartone) Castrilla. He was a 1946 Conneaut High School graduate.
    
Mr. Castrilla later went to work for the former Nickel Plate Railroad as Chief Clerk and superintendent. He also worked for Dean Wible Oldsmobile as a General Manager. He became licensed in the insurance business and worked for Metropolitan Life as an agent for over 13 years. He was also the owner and operator of Flowers by JoAnn for 8 years. Joe has operated the Corner Store on Broad Street, which his family owned since it opened in 1950.
     Joe was a past president of the Lion's Club and former member of the Elks. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, and traveling, and was a "Webelo Leader" for Pack 36 for several years. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Conneaut.
     Mr. Castrilla is survived by his wife, Ann (Wilder) Castrilla, whom he married September 28, 1985; five daughters, Susan Adams of Willoughby, Sally and Bob Rossick, Patricia and Bob DeMarco, JoEllen and Floyd Cameron, and Charlotte and Oscar Kobernik, all from Conneaut; one son, Jay and Kim Cvetko of Orlando, Florida; two brothers, William Castrilla of Canfield, OH, and Jacob Castrilla of Madison, OH; two sisters, Marian Dewey of Ashtabula, and Rosalie Moisio of Conneaut; his mother-in-law, Lesie Stewart; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Phil Castrilla; and two sisters, Jennie Bortz and Irene Deveraux.
     A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 19, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut. Father A. Edward Gretchko of St. Mary's in Massillon will be officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut.

- Nona B. Gates, 86, of Buffalo St., Conneaut, died Sunday morning, May, 18, 2003, at Inn-Conneaut Health Center.
Born April 12, 1917, in Youngstown, the daughter of James E. and Ida P. (Franklin) Ingram.
A Conneaut resident since age 6, she had been employed as a machine operator at the former Webb manufacturing, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann and husband Thomas Boyce of Conneaut; son, George D. Gates of Conneaut; sister Betty Scott of Geneva; two brothers, Richard Ingram of North Kingsville, and Dewey Ingram of Homosassa, FL; four grandchildren, Thomas Boyce, Jr., Deanna Gates, Jason Gates, and James Boyce; and three great grandchildren, Edward Boyce, Amanda Boyce, and Kaitlyn Gates.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; son, James; granddaughter, Sandra Boyce; three brothers, William, Robert Earl, and John Ingram; and two sisters, Laverne Ring and Mabel Forbes.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty Street, Conneaut, with the Rev. Walter Coy, pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in

- Pauline (Hawkins) Hall, 89, formerly of Conneaut, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Madison Health Care. Lucile E. Olekshuk
MONROE
TOWNSHIP — Lucile E. Olekshuk, 83, of Center Rd., Monroe Township, died early Monday morning, May 19, 2003, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home in Kingsville, following a lengthy illness.
     
Born December 20, 1919, in Monroe Township, a daughter of Daniel and Lucia (Taft) Hazeltine.
     A lifelong Monroe Township resident, she was a 1937 graduate of Conneaut High School. She and her husband, Paul, owned and operated Paul & Lucile's General Store in Monroe Township, that they purchased from her parents in 1950, until their retirement in 1983. While operating the store, she loved to dress up at Halloween, and was noted for giving peppermint sticks to children and weighing babies for their parents.
     Mrs. Olekshuk was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church for seventy-five years, where she was a liturgist, and loved telling stories to the children. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, and was active in the former Monroe P.T.A. She was a member of Marina Rebekah Lodge #628, a charter member of the Monroe Junior Grange, and a member of the former Monroe Grange #1555. She enjoyed bowling, latch hook, dancing, and traveling.
     Survivors include her husband, Paul Olekshuk, whom she married September 6, 1947; a daughter, Penny Olekshuk-Perme of Conneaut; three grandchildren, Heidi Olekshuk, Carolyn Perme, and Shaun Olekshuk; a sister, Georgia Yourchak of Monroe Township; and a number of nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry E. Olekshuk, in 2002; a sister, Harriet Pixley; two brothers, George Martin Hazeltine in infancy, and Howard Hazeltine.
     Funeral service is at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2003, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. Mrs. Olekshuk's cousin, the Rev. Vernon Palo, pastor of Plymouth United Methodist Church, will be officiating. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery in Monroe Township.
    
Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 21, 2003, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a Marina Rebekah's service at 8:30. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department or to the Monroe United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

John M. "Rebel" Rebera, Jr.

CONNEAUT — John M. "Rebel" Rebera, Jr., 36, of Liberty St., Conneaut, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon,5_22__Rebera_Obit_eps May 19, 2003, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital of a probable coronary.

Born September 30, 1966, in Conneaut, OH, the son of John M. Rebera, Sr. and Mary "Butchie" (Fassnacht) Brockway.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in Okinawa, Japan, completing three years of service in 1985. He was employed by Horton Pre-Cast Concrete in Girard, PA, Foseco Manufacturing for twelve years, and was currently employed with Frigic and Daub Concrete Contractors.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #408, and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #472. He enjoyed motorcycles, yard work, gardening (roses), cooking, and being with all of his friends, children, and his pets Bailey, Thomas, and Becca.

Survivors include his father, of St. Petersburg, FL; his mother, of Conneaut; his wife and best friend, Lynn L. (Taylor) Rebera, whom he married January 16, 1988; his sister, Marlo A. Rebera of Ashtabula; two brothers, Jeff Rebera of Kingsford, MI, and Brandon "Brock" Brockway of Ft. Bragg, NC; his "Gram," Kay Sanford of Conneaut; nieces and nephews, Steven and Tyler Hill, Jade Sponaugle, Tony and Justin Santiago, Anthony Rebera, Alexis and Spencer Altier, Alex and Buzzy Taylor; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Manny Fassnacht, Jean Post, Lawrence Rebera, Mary Ann Kamppi, and Charles "PaPa" Sanford.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2003, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Dave Hockey, pastor of Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in East Conneaut Cemetery.

Calling hours will be at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Lynn L. Rebera. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Mabel G. McKee
CRESCENT CITY, FL — Mabel G. McKee, 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Crestwood Nursing Center in Florida.
     
Born in Conneaut, she was a homemaker who came to live in Crescent City 46 years ago, from Pennsylvania. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and the Friendly Bible Class. She also sponsored many children through the years through the Christian Children's Fund.
     Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Arthur E. "Mac" McKee, of Crescent City, FL; daughter, Laurie K. McKee of Orlando, FL; daughter-in-law, Pamela A. McKee of New Hampshire; brother, David Gibbs of Erie, PA; two sisters, Frances Burmeister of Shelby, MI and Beth Barker of Albion, PA; and a niece, Elaine Cheney of North Carolina.
     She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Elwin McKee.
     Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home in Crescent City, FL, with Dr. William L. Pope officiating.

Brenda A. Brabender
JEFFERSON - Brenda A. Brabender, 37, Scottsmill, Oregon and former Jefferson resident, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at her residence.
She was born September 12, 1965 in Conneaut and was a resident of Jefferson most of her life, graduating from Jefferson Area High School in 1983 and from Grove City College in 1987. She was active in the JAGS program for many years, was involved with chorus, volleyball and track while in high school. She loved animals and took care of horses at the county fairgrounds.
She was a member of the Scottsmill friends Church in Scottsmill. Ms. Brabender enjoyed writing poetry, short stories and was a excellent artist. She recently had a booklet published of her poetry. Following graduation from Grove City she worked a short while at Heather Hill Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia for the next four years. Brenda then took a position in Portland, Ore., working for a non-profit organization in charge of sending emergency medical supplies to third world countries.
Survivors include her parents, Jon R. & Kay Ann Brabender of Jefferson, a grandmother, Anne Weber of Ashtabula, two sisters, Cathy R. Nitowski of Garden City, Mich. & Kirsten R. Millet of Westlake, a niece and nephew, Tiffany & Anthony Jon Nitowski.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, William & Leanore Brabender, Frank & Anna Mundy & Wilber Weber.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 27 at 10:30 am at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Meredith Coleman of the Jefferson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Paul R. Reed, Sr.
CONNEAUT
- Paul R. Reed, Sr., 82 of JoAnn Drive, Conneaut, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at the Villa at the Lake.
Born in Dorset, Ohio, April 16, 1921, the son of the late William and Mabel (Tuttle) Reed, he had lived in the Conneaut and Kingsville area most of his life. Mr. Reed served on the Lakeville Police Force as a patrolman, and served as the Chief of Police for three years.
He retired from the Hanna Steamship Lines as an engineer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served during World War II. In his leisure times, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph Britcher of Ashtabula, and Paul R. Reed, Jr., of Jackson, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Britcher, Paul Reed and Melissa Carpenter; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Hatch of Kingsville, Frances Hatch of Franklin, North Carolina, Louise Scott of North Carolina, and Jeanette Hinkle of Hollywood, Florida; and two brothers, Raymond Reed of Kingsville, and Robert Reed of Sandusky, Ohio.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary J. Reed, two brothers, John and Howard Reed, and two sisters, Grace Kotnick and Lillian Stevens.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29th, at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Conneaut, with Tim Kraus, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from noon until the time of the service. Following cremation, interment will be made in Edgewood Cemetery.

CHARDON — Mildred A. Weber, 94, of Chardon, (formerly of N. Kingsville, Conneaut, and Eastlake) died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Chardon Health Care in Chardon.
    
She was born on November 15, 1908, in Eureka, MT. Mrs. Weber was a Licensed Practical Nurse who practiced private duty nursing, and she enjoyed sewing, dancing, and spending time with her family.
    Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis (James) Egner Whitmore of Conneaut; grandchildren, Larry (fiancee Lou Ann Pachatka) McKay, Gary (Sally) Egner, Carol (Vince) Egner Blancato, Keith (Teresa) Egner Sr., Marcy (Ron) Weber Bachman, Denise Weber Anderson, William A. "Bill" Weber; seven step-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many other grandchildren; and sisters, Lois McCoy of Holiday, FL, and Harriet Marks of Austin, TX.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Weber; son, William H. Weber; daughter, Lois Gulliford Cotton; grandsons, Calvin "Mickey" Egner and Robert Brock; and sisters, Ethel Hill and Agnes Allen.
     Funeral service pending for Monday, June 2, 2003, at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, where family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Bedford Heights.
