ASHTABULA - William Francis Keating, 95, died 
								Monday, May 24, 1999, in the Country Club 
								Retirement Center.     
								Born Feb. 26, 1904, in Conneaut, he was the son 
								of Cornelius and Julia (Hawkins) Keating. 
								     He graduated from 
								the University of Dayton with a degree in 
								electrial engineering and retired from the 
								Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co.  He was 
								an active member of St. Joseph Church, 
								Ashtabula;  past exalted ruler of the BPO 
								Elks 208;  lifetime member member of the 
								Knights of Columbus Council 360; and member of 
								the Ashtabula Kiwanis and the National Rifle 
								Association. 
								     Survivors include 
								his wife, Irene C. (May); a son, William J. of 
								Texas; daughters, Anne K. Groves of New Canaan, 
								Conn., and Nancy K. Andre of Wilmington, N.C., 
								eight grandchildren and nine 
								great-grandchildren. 
								     Besides his parents, 
								he was preceded in death by a brother, John; and 
								a granddaughter Elizabeth Groves. 
								Service at 10 a.m. Thursday at the 
								Zaback-Czup Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road, 
								Ashtabula, with the Rev. Philip Miller 
								officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph 
								Cemetery. 
								NOTE:  I am not 
								sure whether it is in Conneaut, or Ashtabula.
