CONNEAUT — Robert F. “Spike” Naylor, age 92, died peacefully at his home early Saturday evening, Nov. 3, 2007.“Big Bob” was born Nov. 8, 1914 in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of the late L.R. and Leta (Sutton) Naylor. He was a 1933 graduate of Conneaut High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942. A World War II Veteran, Bob served in England, North Africa and Italy with the 36th Depot Supply Squadron. After receiving an honorable discharge in Nov. 1945, Bob married Dorothy Barringer on Dec. 12, 1945.He went on to work at the Cleveland Illuminating Company, and retired after 43 years of service in 1977 as an Electrical Construction Leader. Bob was a coach and umpire when Conneaut and Lakeville merged. Bob also spent two years as the Conneaut Zoning Inspector and served on the Conneaut Board of Education form 1970 to 1977, serving two terms as President. Bob was appointed to the Ashtabula County Metropolitan Housing Authority and served for 11 years, five as chairman. Bob’s love of his country and his community was always his greatest passion. One of his most significant community achievements was the successful origination of the campaign leading to the Conneaut City Charter, which significantly changed Conneaut City government. Mr. Naylor was also well known for his involvement in local politics, expressing his opinions in letters to the editor. Mr. Naylor loved his church, his family, his friends, the Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He belonged to the Federated Church and regularly attended its Senior Center activities. He was also a member of the Conneaut Moose Club, the American Legion Cowle Post 151, and the Evergreen Lodge 222 Masonic Temple.Bob’s final months were marked with excitement which included a trip to visit grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Arizona with his son and daughter-in-law, and attending the Division series with his son and grandson-in-law, Kevin.Bob is survived by his son, Robert E. and Christine Naylor of Conneaut; five grandchildren, Nancy (Jim) Chadwick of Anthem, Ariz., Tarry (Scott) Bates of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jill (Kevin) Kauffman of Strongsville, and Jonathan and Christa Naylor, both of Conneaut; four great-grandchildren, Payton and Conner Chadwick, and Ben and Tara Bates, all of Arizona; and a half sister, Jeannette Speer of Conneaut.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy L. (Barringer) Naylor on May 10, 2007; and a twin sister, Betty Naylor Johnson.Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at The Federated Church in East Springfield, Pa., with Pastor Ed Huntley officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut, with the American Legion Honor Squadron conducting Full Military Rites.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio. Evergreen Lodge 222 will conduct Fraternal Services at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evening.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Federated Church “Connector Project”. PIERPONT — Ralph R. Roberts, age 93, passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007.Born March 28, 1914 in Conneaut, Ohio, he was a son of the late William and Ellen Roberts. A Veteran, he served in the U. S. Army during World War II.  Before retiring, he worked at the old Nickle Plate Railroad as a tower watchman.  He loved to fish, traveling and gardening.  Survivors include his wife, Georgia Roberts; one son, Paul Roberts; three daughters, Pat Vanmeter, Terry Racey and Roberta Johnston; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  A private viewing will held for the family followed by cremation.  A Memorial Service for family and friends will follow at a later date.

ASHTABULA – Ruth J. Bovee, age 78, of Donna Drive, died Wednesday, Nov. 07, 2007, at home.  She was born June 3, 1929, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Errett and Agnes (Paine) Loomis and had been a lifelong area resident.  Prior to her retirement, she was the secretary at Kollhoff Insurance Agency.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsville and served as a Deaconess and Children’s Accompanist. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, working cross word puzzles, cooking and baking.She is survived by three sons, the Rev. Fr. Brian A. T. Bovee of Rockford, Ill., Mark Bovee of Kingsville and Evan L. Bovee of Madison; five grandchildren, Jami Faulhammer, Marc, Jesse, Jennifer and Jeremy Bovee; five great-grandchildren, Seth Miller, Ethan Bovee, Kayleigh Mallory, Austin Malachin, and Landen Faulhammer; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorland Bovee, in 2005; one brother, William E. Loomis; and her parents.Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at the First Baptist Church, 6003 St. Rte. 193, Kingsville, with the Rev. David Hines, Pastor of the church, officiating. CONNEAUT — Juanita J. “Tupy” Lindgren, age 71, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at her home.  She was born March 16, 1936, in Conneaut, Ohio, daughter of the late George F. and Ellen (Heinonen) Snyder. She was a 1954 graduate of Conneaut High School. On June 28, 1958 she married George W. Lindgren, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, officiated by the Rev. Father Orlando Rich.  “Tupy” was employed as secretary for Attorney Walter Thayer and had also worked as clerk and bookkeeper at Cooper Furniture.  She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, a 50 year member of Catholic Daughters of America, and the “Dolls Are Us” Club. She taught crafts to seniors at the Conneaut Community Center for the Arts and was one of the original members of the Kilpi International Folk Dancers. She was also a former member of the Conneaut Quilt Club and the Conneaut Artists Guild, and took part in many of the local musical productions and enjoyed reading.  Survivors include her husband, George; two sons, Tom (Debbie) Lindgren of Bexley and Jon Lindgren of Ashtabula; her beloved grandchildren, Kelsie and Tyrus; her brother, Jon (Etta) Snyder of West Springfield, Pa.; her sister, Wanda (Dick) Meinke of Conneaut; and former sister-in-law, Pauline Snyder of Fla.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Georgene Mischka.  A Memorial Service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Franklin Gore, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.No Calling Hours will be observed. CONNEAUT — Thomas E. Jones, age 69, died late Friday evening, Nov. 9, 2007, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.  Tom was a lifelong resident of Conneaut before relocating to West Springfield.  He worked for various factories in and around Conneaut. He and his late wife, Carol (Clough) Jones, owned and operated the former Conneaut Sugarbowl.  He is survived by four sons, David Jones of West Springfield, Brian Jones of Columbus, Michael Jones of Ashtabula and Jason Jones of Columbus; a daughter, Bonnie O’Niel of Conneaut; and grandchildren, Susie Jones, Marissa Miller, Mandy and Crystal Sauberan and Samantha Jones.  At the request of the family, there will be no services.  Arrangements are being handled by the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

CONNEAUT — Former Monroe Township resident, Ruth Elizabeth Cedar Simmons, age 78, of Sebring, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, in Tampa, Fla.  She was born May 5, 1929 in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Edward D. and Mary (Moran) Cedar. She lived, worked and raised her family in the Monroe and Conneaut area for 75 years. Ruth married Melvin O. Simmons on Sept. 28, 1946, and graduated from Kingsville High School in 1947.Employed at Brown Memorial Hospital for 27 years, she and her husband founded and owned Kings Tours bus lines until 1994.She was a member of Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene, and through her love of her Savior, she was instrumental in winning many souls for Christ. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her.  Ruth was coordinator and volunteer of the Pink Ladies at Highlands Regional Hospital; vice president of Highlands Wheel Red Hatters Society of Sebring, Fla.; a member of Sebring Garden Club; and was an avid genealogist. She enjoyed life to its fullest.  Survivors include her daughters, Diana (Daniel) Marteeny of Malad City, Idaho, Mary (Esko) Pelttari of Sebring, Fla., Rebecca (the late Michael Sutherland) Simmons of Kingsville, Ohio, and Laureen Spencer Case of N. Kingsville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 6 1/2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, Barbara Edixon of Kingsville, Ohio, and Judy Ware of Delion Springs, Fla.; and nephews, Raymond Cedar of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Barry Cedar of Niceville, Fla.She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings, Paul, Robert and Dorthea Cedar.  Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Dr. Roger P. Hogle serving as speaker. N. KINGSVILLE — Surrounded by her family, the life of Veronica M. Santavicca peacefully passed on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at the Cleveland Clinic.  She was born August 15, 1935 in Euclid, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Frances Gregorich and was a graduate of Collnwood High School.  After raising her two daughters, Vera worked as a pharmacy assistant at Cook Drug in Ashtabula for 25 years.  Vera dedicated every moment to her family, taking care of “it all” to make everything perfect. She loved spending time outdoors, especially nurturing her flower and tomato garden, and attending musical concerts with her very best friend, Sonia DiMare.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Arnold Santavicca; two daughters, Cynthia Marie Phillips of Geneva and Valerie Lyn Zaucha of Twinsburg; four grandchildren, Troy and Brittany Phillips and Kristen and Lauren Zaucha; and two brothers-in-law, Gene (Gayle) Santavicca and John Santavicca.  She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Gregorich, and mother, Frances (Kompare) Gregorich; and a brother, Frank Gregorich Jr.  A Private Family Mass will be held at Knowlwood Cemetery.  Close to her heart was the love for children and donations may be made to the Happy Hearts School Playground Fund, 2505 S. Ridge East, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.

CONNEAUT — Gerald H. “Jerry” Armstrong, age 67, died Thursday morning, Nov. 15, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, Pa., as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.  Jerry was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Conneaut, the son of Harold and Helen (Blanner) Armstrong. He was a lifelong Conneaut resident.  He had been employed as a manager at Eighmy Products.  He enjoyed motorcycling and was a member of the Erie Bike Club. He loved to travel to Arizona.  Survivors include his fiancée, Barbara A. Gignilliat of Conneaut and a grandson, Jordan Wiser of Conneaut.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Aileen Armstrong, in 2004.At Jerry’s request, there will be no services or calling hours observed.  The MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, is in charge of arrangements.

CONNEAUT — Berenice “Bunnie” Gustason, age 88, died peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehab Center.  Berenice was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Beresford, S.D., the only child of Ralph and Ruth Boyle. A graduate of Yankton College in 1941, Mrs. Gustason received her Masters of Library Science in 1943, from the University of Denver. On Aug. 12, 1947, she married Robert Gustason. They made their home in Conneaut, with many winters spent in Sun City, Ariz. after their retirement.  From 1943 to 1947, she worked in the School Department at the Cleveland Public Library. Beginning in 1949, she was the librarian for Conneaut High School, until her retirement in 1976.In her early years, Mrs. Gustason was a member of several social, literary and music organizations, which are no longer in existence. Until recently, she had enjoyed being an active member of the Irish Colleens, Conneaut Retired Teachers, a Life Member of the Ohio Retired Teachers, and a member of First Congregational U.C.C.  Survivors include (in her words) her neighbors; her friends; and four wonderfully caring families, Jim (Linda) Hall, Pat (Elsie) Burr, Eva Weber and Bobbie (Julie) Pennell. She will be missed by all those who loved her dearly.  Mrs. Gustason was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert, in 1995.Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at the THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with Joyce Shellhammer, Lay Pastor of N. Kingsville Presbyterian Church, officiating. A private burial will take place at Glenwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the First Congregational U.C.C. Building Fund, where the Gustason’s attended or the Hospice of the Western Reserve, with special thanks to Dori, Tracy, and the Hospice volunteers for their compassion and dedication to Bunnie’s care.  Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.

CONNEAUT — Naomi C. Hess, age 92, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at The Villa At The Lake in Conneaut, Ohio. She was born October 26, 1915, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Albert E. Caton and Harriet A. (Gardner) Caton.  She married John F. Hess, son of Homer and Isabelle Hess, in June of 1939. She graduated from Uniontown High School and Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing where she received her R.N. She loved the obstetrics department, especially working in the nursery.  Naomi “Nemmie” was active in the Uniontown Laurette Chapter of Eastern Star, serving as worthy matron. She also enjoyed the Uniontown Service League and the Garden Club, winning many ribbons for her roses and irises; she was most proud of her 125 rose bushes. Along with gardening, Naomi enjoyed baking and took pride in her pies and cinnamon rolls. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Uniontown until she moved to Conneaut in 1986, at which time she faithfully attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She enjoyed singing and was active in “The Cover Girls,” the church quilting group.  Naomi is survived by her three children, John F. (Sandra) Hess, Jr. of Cartersville, GA; Susan H. (Antero) Tan of Conneaut, OH; and Peter H. (Peggy) Hess of Price, Utah; ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Hess, in 1985; four brothers, Harold, Luther, Elsworth, and Edgar Caton; five sisters, Elizabeth Emrick, Dorothy Bennett, Charlotte Lewin, Nell Fidler, infant sister Elsie Della Caton; and her parents.  A funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 876 Grove Street and Lake Road, Conneaut, with Rev. Franklin Gore officiating.  Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 21, in Oak Grove Cemetery in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She will be buried beside her husband.  Calling hours will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday until the time of service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Quilting Ministries of Conneaut, Ohio. CONNEAUT — Clara M. Knauff, age 83, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Nov. 14, 2007, at their home of a probable coronary.  She was born Dec. 7, 1923, in West Springfield, Pa., and was the daughter of Robert and Neva (Callahan) Swartz. A lifelong Conneaut resident, Mrs. Knauff married Lyle E. Knauff on March 1, 1944, at Camp McCall, N.C., where Mr. Knauff was stationed with the 551st Paratrooper Airborne. Together they raised four daughters.  Clara was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed bowling, traveling in their motor home, especially to Las Vegas, and camping at the family hunting camp in Tionesta, Pa.  Surviving Mrs. Knauff are her daughters, Sandra M. Wiley (Dick Railsback) of Edinboro, Pa., Connie (Thomas) Cook of Pierpont, Brenda (Bob) Golden of Conneaut and Lyla (John) Carr of Rock Hill, S.C.; two sisters, Patricia Woodworth of Ashtabula and Shirley Borch of Sun City, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Chris (Jackie) Wiley and Heather (Bill) Izzi; and a great-grandson, Jacob Lyle Wiley.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle, in 2000; two sisters, Wanda and Roberta; and a brother, William Swartz.Private Services were held at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. CONNEAUT — Arthur W. Dudley, age 94, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at The Villa At The Lake.  He was born in Conneaut, the son of Alfred and Coralinn Lillie Dudley. He was a graduate of Conneaut High School, where he played saxophone in the school band and worked in his father’s store. Arthur worked at the Masonic Temple in Cleveland, while attending Spencerian College, and later at the Frog and Crossing Company, Cleveland. He graduated from Spencerian College and also attended Fenn College. On March 7, 1937, he married the former Martha C. Shearer, who preceded him in death in Nov. 2002. They were married for 65 years.  A W.W.II Veteran, he served with the 292nd Field Artillery Observation in 1944, and 1945 in England, France, Germany and Italy. His service record is recorded in the W.W.II Memorial in Washington, D.C.  In 1938, Arthur was employed by the Juvenile Court of Cuyahoga County as Assistant Cashier and was appointed Chief Cashier in 1948. He was commended by the State Examiner for setting up and installing a new system of handling collections and in 1970 the Cuyahoga County Bar Association presented Mr. Dudley with an Award of Merit in appreciation for his long and faithful service. He retired from the Court in 1975, after 37 years.  As a member of the Lake Erie Boat Club, he served as Commodore, Rear Commodore and on the Board of Trustees and the auditing committee. He was a member of the Clifton-Gaston Allen Masonic Lodge #664 F and AM in Lakewood, Ohio, for more than 50 years. Active for many years in Boy Scouting, he held positions of committee chairman and institutional representative and traveled to Canada with the Scouts. Arthur enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling and reading western novels. He was also a member of the American Legion, the Sam Wharram Nature Club and the Conneaut Historical Society. Arthur attended the Kelloggsville Nazarene Church and was a member of the United Church of Christ in Conneaut.  He loved his family; he did everything within his power to provide for and protect his children and grandchildren. To each of them he sang “ A Peanut Sat on a Railroad Track”, as he bounced them on his knee.  Survivors include a sister, Roberta Conley of Macedonia; three daughters, Jane (Ron) Balling of Youngsville, Pa., Margie (Lee) Baker of Centerville, Pa. and Ruth Dudley of Conneaut; a son, Bob (Karen) Dudley of Conneaut; 10 grandchildren, Andrew (Sonia) Spore, Rachel (Walter) Camp, Maria Taylor, Jeffrey (Luwaina) Baker, Jason (Robin) Baker, Grace, Luis and Nena Dudley, Jennifer (Joe) Erd and Lori Dudley; 17 great-grandchildren, Megan, Joshua, Aaron and Liesl Spore, Rebekah, Hannah, Sarah and Lydia Camp, Jacob and Isabel Baker, Tristan Baker, Julia, Aaron and Haley Czup, Noah Spore and Bomani and Kasim Taylor.  Besides his wife, Martha, Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ernestine Genter; brother, Kenneth Dudley; two infant sons, Billy and Jimmy; an infant daughter, Alice Jean; and a grandson, Michah Spore.  The family thanks all the wonderful people at The Villa At The Lake and to Hospice, for the exceptional care given to our father and the great kindness’ shown to our family. OCALA, Fla. — Leonard Mostello Sr., age 94, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007.Mr. Mostello was born in Conneaut, Ohio. He lived and worked in Ashtabula, Ohio.  He retired from Union Carbide as a crane operator. Upon retirement, he moved to Englewood, Fla., residing there until moving to Ocala, Fla. in 2006.Survivors include his son, Leonard (Lenny) Mostello Jr. of The Villages, Fla.; brothers, Ned of Englewood, Fla. and John of Orlando, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ona; parents, Daniel and Theresa Mostello; brothers, Mike, Joe and Tony; and sister, Carmel.  Memorial Services will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Bridge of Ocala Assisted Living, 2800 SW 41st St., Building 200, Ocala, Fla. 34474. CONNEAUT — M. Clyde Seager, age 88, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 14, 2007, at UH Conneaut Medical Center following a brief illness.  He was born Aug. 21, 1919, in Conneaut, the son of M. Clyde and Margaret (Wallace) Seager. A lifelong Conneaut resident, Clyde graduated from Conneaut High School in 1937 and received his Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Fenn College in Cleveland. He joined the U.S. Army in 1941, serving in the European Theatre, South Africa and Italy.  Following his discharge, he returned to Conneaut and began his newspaper career at the Conneaut News-Herald, working up from the mailroom to the advertising dept. and then the composing dept.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he served as usher for many years, and was a 60 year member of Cowle Post #151 of the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and history, particularly that of the United States and Conneaut.  Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sophia P.(Perkoski) Seager; nieces and nephews, David Seager, Laura Jardine, Tom (Rosemary) Perkoski, John Perkoski, MaryAnn Downey, Mary Fran Brennen, Janie Alderman and Ann Perkoski; sisters-in-law, Patricia Seager, Ann Field, Betty Gruey and Fran Gassner; and a number of great-nieces and nephews and more distant relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William, in infancy and Richard P. Seager; and a nephew, Allen Seager.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 480 State St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas, as celebrant. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.  Calling Hour will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. CONNEAUT — Marjorie L. Monda, age 66 of Conneaut, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at the Inn Conneaut Health Center in Conneaut.  Marjorie was born Dec. 1, 1940, in Erie, Pa., the daughter of Harold and Marilee (Whiten) Ross. She was a 1958 graduate of Northwestern High School. On Nov. 2, 1988 she married Dominic Monda.  Marge worked at the former Astatic, in the production department, and then went on to work at the Four Star Music Store in the Ashtabula Mall, in organ sales. She also worked at the Conneaut Bakery and CTI, in production. Marge loved to play music and was a wonderful organist and pianist. She played dinner music at the Signature Lounge and for several years she played at various clubs with her husband, Donnie.  Marge was an avid reader and she loved religion and reading the Bible. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is survived by her husband, Dominic (Donnie) Monda of Conneaut; a son, Joseph Philip of Conneaut; three daughters, Debbie (John) Goelz of Wis., Donna (Robert) Goelz of Tex. and Julie (John) Florian of Akron; two step-sons, James (Carla) Monda of Conneaut and Rocky Monda of Fla.; step-daughter, Joanie Monda of Conneaut; 12 grandchildren, Joanne and Justin Philip, Amanda, Allison, Lindsey, Riley and Lauren Goelz, John and Marilee Goelz, Jason, May and Aaron Florian; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Dylan.  Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold Ross; and an infant sister.  Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.  Calling Hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at the Funeral Home.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. CONNEAUT — Eugene W. Seline, age 93, of Lake Road, died Sunday, November 18, 2007, at his home.Born in Clifford, Wis., on April 19, 1914, Eugene was the son of the late William I. and Hulda S. (Ekman) Seline. Mr. Seline was a graduate of Conneaut High School, Class of 1932, and resided in Conneaut the remainder of his life.Mr. Seline was manager of the former Toimi Co-op Dairy and worked as a foreman at the General Electric Company. He also assisted his wife, Olga, in the operation of their dance School for many years. Following the untimely death of his wife, he was employed by his brother at the Seline Painting Company. Eugene retired in 1982.He was a life member of the AERIE #408 Fraternal Order of Eagles in Conneaut and was also a member of the B.P.O.E. #256 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #472. Mr. Seline was a life member of Painters and Allied Trades Union.During earlier years, he and his wife enjoyed visiting dance conventions. Mr. Seline enjoyed visiting with his children and their families. He also enjoyed socializing at his clubs.Survivors include his sons, Eugene A. (Ann) Seline of Conneaut, and David W. (Mary Ann) Seline of Willoughby Hills; two nieces, Mary (Len) Sherer of Madison, and Karen Benedetto of Twinsburg; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Lori (Mike) Nappi, Dawn (Ralph) Bevilacqua, Teri (David) Fritts and Robie Willard; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Additionally, he is survived by his caregiver, Margaret Lowery, of Conneaut; and his companion, Margaret Hurrel of Conneaut.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Olga; brother, Clarence; sister, Irene Sorenson; granddaughter, Christine Grisdale; and stepsons, Steven and James Willard.It was the request of the deceased that there be no calling hours or funeral service. GENEVA — David A. Tingley, age 50, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at University Case Medical Center, Cleveland.  Born in Conneaut, Ohio, on Dec. 8, 1956, he was a son of Maida A. (Pierce) and the late Merle M. Tingley and was a resident of Geneva, Ohio, most of his life.  He was a produce worker in a Florida grocery store.  David was a member of the Geneva Fraternal Order of Eagles and an associate member of Madison VFW.  Survivors include his mother, Maida of Geneva; a son, David serving in Iraq; a daughter, Jennifer of Florida; five brothers, Merle L. of Geneva, Roger E. (Sonya) of Enid, Okla., Duane M. of Madison, and Michael and Donald L., both of Geneva; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Merle in 2002.Funeral Service will be 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at First Church of God, 1910 S. Ridge W., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Hal Morgan officiating.  No calling hours will be held.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of God.  Arrangements are being handled by C.A. WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 828 Sherman St., Geneva, Ohio.

Broughton, age 71, of Monroe Township, Ohio, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.  He was born March 24, 1936 in Ashtabula, Ohio, and was the son of George and Ethel (Bush) Broughton.  He was employed as a truck driver at Riverside Trucking, and enjoyed traveling, gambling, playing cards and spending time with his family.  Survivors include two daughters, Carla Broughton of Conneaut, Ohio, and Kimberley (Barry) Rasile of Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters, Margaret (Jim) Leehan of Kingsville, Ohio, and Martha (Red) Erdman of Girard, Pa.; his brother, Eugene (Carol) Broughton of Kingsville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Taylor Batchelor, Cortney Broughton and Ricky Sabo Sr., all of Conneaut, Ohio; and a great-grandson, Ricky J. Sabo Jr. of Conneaut, Ohio.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in 2003.A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, in the Chapel at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville, Ohio, with the Rev. Dr. Roger P.
