NICHOLAS
L. DINUNZIO
DANIA BEACH, FL -- Nicholas L. DiNunzio, age 90, of Hollywood,
Florida, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Willow Manor Nursing Retirement Home
in Dania Beach, Florida.
Born September 9, 1915, in Erie, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Carl and
Theresa (Massiello) DiNunzio Sr. He attended school locally, and later was
drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country until
he was honorably discharged.
While he was being discharged in California, he met his wife, Florence Genesee,
whom he later married. He and his wife moved to Pittsburgh, where he and his
brother-in-law were the owners/ operators of Kelly’s Bar. He then opened a
barber shop in Pittsburgh, and later moved with his wife to Dania, Florida,
where he later retired after many years as a barber.
Mr. DiNunzio was a member of Our Lady of Mercy in Hollywood, Florida; the
Knights of Columbus in Dania; the American Legion; the Elks Club; the Moose
Club; and Lions Club.
He enjoyed painting signs for family and friends, and liked cooking and helping
the needy. Nick also loved to play golf, and enjoyed traveling on cruise ships
with his wife, Florence. He was always very proud of his family and enjoyed
their visits.
Mr. DiNunzio is survived by five sisters, Mary and Frank Tallmadge of Conneaut,
Jennie Belnap of Conneaut, Esther Sandella of Ashtabula, Helen Hollister of
Erie, Pennsylvania, and Margaret DeNunzio of Conneaut; two brothers, Carl
DeNunzio Jr. of Conneaut, and Emil and Clarice DeNunzio of Conneaut; and several
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Florence Genesee.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12 p.m., Noon, Tuesday, May 2, 2006,
at Greenlawn Mausoleum, North Kingsville, where entombment will follow.

DIANE R. MEINKE
CONNEAUT -- Diane R. Meinke, age 44, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 3,
2006, at Ashtabula County Medical Center, Ashtabula, Ohio.
She was born December 12, 1961, in Conneaut, and was a daughter of the late
Robert and Joyce A. (Giles) Eddy.
A lifelong Conneaut resident, Mrs. Meinke was employed as a Corrections Officer
at the Lake Erie Correctional Institute, and had previously worked at
Inn-Conneaut Health Center, Crawford Container, Premix, and K-Mart.
She was a member of the Conneaut Moose Lodge since 1996, and enjoyed camping,
being outdoors, riding with her husband on his motorcycle, and spending time
with her family, especially her children.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas S. Meinke; her daughter, Ashley at home;
son, Wayne at home; two sisters, Lisa Leffel of Girard, Pennsylvania, and Cheryl
(Bob) Renaud of Erie, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Kevin Eddy and Dean (Mary)
Eddy, all of Conneaut; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins,
great-nieces, and great-nephews. Also surviving are her best friend, Connie
Carpenter; long-time childhood friend, Jean Kulyk; and many other close friends
and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Duane in infancy,
and Aaron Eddy Sr. in 2000.
Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2006, at the MARCY FUNERAL
HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty Street, Conneaut. Burial will be in
East Conneaut Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2006, at the
Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.

NOTE: Diane was a fun loving
person and a pleasure to know. A procession of several friends on
motorcycles lead the funeral procession taking Diane to her final resting place
in the manner of which she would have been very pleased. I was one of the

DELVIN G. SANDERS
CONNEAUT -- Delvin G. "Sandy" Sanders, age 76, of South Parish Road, Conneaut,
Ohio, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital.
He was born on March 24, 1930, in Los Angeles, California, to the late William
and Nellie (Christopher) Sanders, and he had resided in Conneaut since 1997.
Prior to moving to Conneaut, he had made his home in Baldwin Park, California,
for 45 years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam and Korean Wars, and served with
the U.S. Army. On June 17, 1978, he married Florence Roszel Bright.
Mr. Sanders was employed by Lansco Die Casting Company in California as a Die
Caster for 20 years.
He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks #256, American Legion Cowle Post #151, a life
member of the VFW Post #943, and had served as District Commander for the sixth
district from 1990 to 1991.
In his leisure time he enjoyed yard work, gardening, and especially being with
his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, whom he had been married to for almost 28
years; four stepdaughters, Margaret (Peg) Lowery of Conneaut, Marlene (Dennis)
Yoshida of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Elizabeth Meade of Vine Grove, Kentucky, and Jean
Seifert of Middleburg, Florida; 34 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; eight
great-great grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Jennie) Sanders, of West Covina,
California; and a sister, Phyllis Epple of Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and three step-children,
Robert J. Crowley, Daryl E. Baldree, and Judith L. Plowman.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2006, at the
THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main Street, Conneaut, with Pastor Tim Kraus,
Minister of the Conneaut Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at
Kelloggsville Cemetery, where Military Rites will be held by the American
Legion Cowle Post #151.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2006, at the Funeral
Home.

MELVIN T. WHARTON
EASTLAKE -- Melvin T. Wharton, age 92, of Eastlake, Ohio, and
formerly of Concord Township, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Manor Care in
Willoughby.
Born July 2, 1913, in Laurelville, Ohio, he retired from National Acme in 1976,
where he was a Machinist.
Mr. Wharton was a member and Past Master of Temple Lodge #28 F&AM, and Past High
Priest of Painesville Chapter #46, Royal Arch Masons.
He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn (James) Young of Eastlake; sons, Donald
(Beverly) of Grafton, Edwin (Della) of Conneaut, and Richard (Georgia) of
Mentor; sister, Mabel Biedle of Providence, Rhode Island; 12 grandchildren; and
many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, on April 15, 2002; and
brothers, Berman, Kenneth, Raymond, and Jessie.
Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2006, at the JOHNSON FUNERAL HOME, 368
Mentor Avenue, Painesville (opposite Lake Erie College). The Reverend John
Thomson of First Church of Christ of Painesville, will officiate. Burial will
be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., today, Thursday, May 4, 2006,
at the Funeral Home. Masonic Services will be conducted by Temple Lodge at 7:45
p.m. at the funeral home.

JAMES L. FOLTZ
ASHTABULA -- James L. Foltz, age 68, of Bobwhite Drive, Ashtabula, Ohio, died
Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Hamot Select Specialty Hospital, Erie, Pennsylvania.
Born November 25, 1937, in Pierpont, he was a son of the late Wilbur "Grumpy"
and Frances "Granny" (Housel) Foltz, and had been an area resident most of his
life. He was a 1955 graduate of Edgewood High School, and played baseball and
basketball for the Warriors. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Foltz wrote for the
Stars and Stripes military paper in Europe during his service years.
He worked over 30 years as an Iron Worker for the Iron Workers Union Local #17,
Cleveland, before his retirement.
Known to family and friends as "Old Fart," he loved his children and
grandchildren, and followed them daily as he coached Little League for 11 years.
He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, "checking out" the girls, and controlling
the remote control.
A member of the American Legion Dewey Howlett Post #103, he was also a strong
supporter and patron of the Crow's Nest.
His survivors include his wife of 50 years, Emma C. "Flossie" (Hodson), whom he
married December 23, 1955; five children, Debbie (Bruce) Cartner of Ashtabula,
Shari Foltz of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, James Ray (Tammy) Foltz of
Jefferson, Terri Hochschild of Kingsville, and Bradley D. (Kathy) Foltz Sr. of
Kingsville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Foltz
of Andover, and Duane (Ruth) Foltz of Cleveland; one sister, Sharon (Roy)
Henderson of Sumpterville, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Ronnie Foltz.
A Service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2006, at the Bulah Calvary United
Methodist Church, 2070 State Route 193, Dorset, Ohio. Pastor Aletta Burkholder
will officiate. Full Military Honors will be held at the church at the
conclusion of the service.

MILDRED E. SMITH
MEMPHIS, TN -- Mildred E. Smith, age 93, of Memphis, Tennessee, died
Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at her home.
Born June 24, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Victor
and Stina Marie (nee Sundin) Warner, and she graduated from Bowen High School in
Chicago in 1930.
She moved to Conneaut in 1931, and married Dillon B. Smith in 1934. He was
co-owner of LaBounty and Smith Hardware in Conneaut for over 20 years. In 1961,
Dillon and Mildred moved to North Canton, Ohio, and a few years later to Kent,
Ohio, where she would remain for over 30 years. For 20 of those years, she was
employed as a Bookkeeper for Callahan's Carpet House. In 2001, Mrs. Smith moved
to the Memphis, Tennessee, area.
Mildred is survived by two daughters, Linnea (Paul) Bert of Eads, Tennessee, and
Jean (George) Vocar of Akron, Ohio; four grandchildren, Paula (Ron) Turner,
Jennifer (Leonard) Lyons, Joanne (Tripp) Traicoff, and Timothy (Katy) Bert; and
five great-grandchildren, Erin and Emory Traicoff, Dillon and Linnea Lyons, and
Camden Bert. She also leaves three loving caregivers, Catherine Burks, Sybil
Bailey, and Earline Campbell.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dillon, in 1973; son, Gary
Smith; four sisters; and two brothers.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2006, at the
East Conneaut Cemetery, with the Reverend Kenneth Schott, of First Lutheran
Church of Washington, Pennsylvania, officiating.

MERTON M. TROUT JR.
CONNEAUT -- Merton "Mack" M. Trout Jr., age 69, of Conneaut, Ohio, died early
Thursday morning, May 4, 2006, at the Hospice unit in Ashtabula County Medical
Center.
Mack was born August 4, 1936, in Yukon, West Virginia, a son of the late Merton
and Molley (Smith) Trout. He graduated from Big Creek High School, and then
attended the University of Kentucky on a four-year football scholarship. He had
many full scholarship offers from major colleges that wanted him for his
football talent.
After 30 years of service as a Welder, he retired from RMI Sodium plant in
Ashtabula.
He was past Vice President of the Local union at RMI Sodium, and he served as
the workers' compensation representative for the union. He was also on the Board
of Directors for the Grotto Hall, and a member of the East Ashtabula Club; the
Conneaut and Ashtabula Eagles; the Conneaut Moose; the Imps Club of the Grotto;
El Kadir Grotto; the Rising Sun Masonic Lodge # 22; the VFW of Springfield,
Pennsylvania; and the VFW of Sheffield.
Mack enjoyed the outdoors and nearly all sports. He loved to travel to his cabin
in the mountains, and spend time hunting and fishing with family and friends
there. Mack also was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan.
Mack is survived by his son, Mitchell and Darlene Trout of Rome, Ohio; a
brother, William and Doris Trout of Howe, Indiana; three sisters, Clara and Bob
Marks of Ashtabula, Wanda and Norman Balcomb of Yuma, Arizona, and Anna and John
Ginter of Florida; grandchildren, Paige Tyler Trout, and Ryan and Adam Trout;
and his companion and dear friend of 14 years, Virginia Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Sue (Williams) Trout in
1992; his son, Mark Trout in 1996; two sisters, Mildred Brown and Penny Loomis;
and two brothers, Samuel Trout and Noah Trout.
Funeral Services will be held 11:30 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2006, at the RAISIAN
FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, with the Reverend Robert Faoke
of the Church of the Living God, Ashtabula, officiating. Burial will follow at
Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

TURNER OWENS
ASHTABULA -- Turner Owens, age 86, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 3,
2006, at his home.
Born January 25, 1920, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late John
and Mary Owens, and had been an Ashtabula resident for the past 50 years, moving
here from Cleveland. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a System Operator for Union Carbide.
A former member of the Knights of Columbus, he enjoyed bowling and singing.
His survivors include three children, Donna (Gilbert) Warner of London, Ohio,
Patricia Owens of Ashtabula, and Roy Owens of Virginia; seven grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Kinchy of Cleveland; and numerous
nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and adopted grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille (Konopa); one grandson, Damian
Owens; several brothers and sisters; and his parents.
A Service will be held 8 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2006, at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL
HOME, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Reverend Vernon Palo, Pastor of
Plymouth United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn

ROBERT V. BOWES
McDONALD -- Mr. Robert V. Bowes, age 84, of McDonald, Ohio, and formerly of
Ashtabula, Ohio, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in
Youngstown, Ohio.
Born April 12, 1922, in Youngstown, he was a son of the late Earnest E. and
Sigrid (Hogan) Bowes, and was a Navy Veteran of WW II, serving on the USS
Hoggatt Bay.
He was employed by Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (First Energy) as a
Chief Clerk, retiring in 1983 after 37 years.
Mr. Bowes enjoyed his loving family, hunting, fishing and trapping, and was an
avid bowler.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy L. (Pettit) Bowes, whom he married May
10, 1947; his daughters, Barbara (Richard) Planton, with whom he made his home,
and Jayne L. Scott of Chardon, Ohio; a sister, Marjorie (Tom) Thomson of
Marietta, Georgia; brother, Ernest E. ( Norma) Bowes of Youngstown;
grandchildren, Darby (John) Gravino, Christine Planton, Stanley Grasky, and
Robert Scott; and great-grandchildren, Ava and Daniel Gravino.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at the
BLACKSTONE FUNERAL HOME, Girard, Ohio. Interment will be in Greenlawn
Memorial Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service, Tuesday, at the
Funeral Home.

JAMES J. TOMSIC
KINGSVILLE -- James Joseph Tomsic, age 77, of Sheffield-Monroe Road, Kingsville,
Ohio, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at his home with his family by his side after a
long courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 31, 1928, in Cleveland, he was raised a son of the late Joe and
Emily Mirous, his foster parents.
He and his wife lived in their home for 55 years, a one-room schoolhouse, which
he lovingly renovated to raise their family.
A Boiler Operator for Yoder Brothers Greenhouses for 30 years, he also worked as
a Custodian for the Ashtabula Area City Schools, running the boilers at Columbus
Jr. High for 10 years before his retirement.
Mr. Tomsic was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
Known for a great sense of humor, he loved to garden, and gave away many of his
vegetables to the Salvation Army, neighbors, friends, and the needy. He also
enjoyed fishing, polka music, the Cleveland Browns and Indians, his dogs, Bruno
and Charco, E and mom!
His survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sarah (Wolfe), whom he married
January 20, 1951; four children, David (Sherry) Tomsic of New Orleans,
Louisiana, Nancy (Steve) Davis of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Gary Tomsic of Ashtabula,
and Linda (Chris) English of Hendersonville, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren;
17 great-grandchildren; three foster brothers, Andy Klokoc of Ashtabula, Robert
Weaver of Arizona, and Thomas Wilson of Arizona; and his special brother, Howard
"Wolfeeee" Wolfe of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by one foster brother, Joe Klokoc; and his foster
parents.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12 p.m., Noon, Thursday, May 11, 2006, at
Gageville Cemetery, Sheffield Township. The Reverend Father Stephen Wassie,
Pastor of St. Andrew's Church, will preside.

RAYMOND M. COPECK
CONNEAUT -- Raymond M. Copeck, age 69, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Wednesday, May
10, 2006, at Inn Conneaut Health Center.
Mr. Copeck was born August 6, 1936, in Conneaut, and was a son of the late
Stanilaus and Ludwinia (Marsowicz) Copek.
He graduated from St. Mary Grade School and attended Conneaut High School. He
then went on to work for ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) as an
Inspector, and then retired in 1991 after 30 years of service.
Raymond was a member of St. Frances Cabrini and St. Mary Parishes in Conneaut,
the Conneaut Eagles, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed horse racing, participating in the barber shop quartet at Inn
Conneaut Health Center, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians.
Raymond is survived by a brother, John Copeck of Conneaut; his sister, Sr. Lucy
Copeck, H.M., of Vienna, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Copeck was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles, Frank, and
Leonard Copeck; sisters, Helen Copeck, Mary Meara, and baby sister, Theola.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2006, at
St. Mary Church, 480 State Street, Conneaut, with Father Raymond Thomas
officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut.

Friday, May 12, 2006, at the church.

CONNEAUT -- Horace "Al" Wilcox, 80, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at the Erie VA
Hospital. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II.

Road, Ashtabula. Pastor Gifford Baker, of Berean Bible Church, will officiate.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL -- Former Conneaut, Ohio, resident, Elizabeth M. (nee:
McCammon) Greenwood, age 77, daughter of Stewart McCammon and Beulah Huff
McCammon, passed away peacefully in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, May
9, 2006, following a courageous battle with leukemia.
Elizabeth, also known as Liz and in her younger days as Lee, was born in
Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Wiley High School in Terre Haute, Indiana,
and married C. Thomas Greenwood (Sr.) of Terre Haute, Indiana, on June 20, 1948.
They moved from Terre Haute to Conneaut, Ohio, in 1957. Elizabeth moved to
Florida in 1986.
Elizabeth was active in a number of community organizations in addition to being
Mom to six children. She was active in Eastern Star (Rose Chapter #22), the
Mothers' Club of Conneaut, PTA, First United Methodist Church of Conneaut, the

Elizabeth worked for Tickner Insurance Agency and Dreslinski Insurance Agency in
Conneaut, and then later at the Surety Bank in Deltona, Florida. She held
officer positions at her condo association in New Smyrna Beach for the last nine
years.
Liz's interests included music (she played the piano), dancing, movies, card
playing, and everything that involved her children. She was a person who could
sort through what was important in life, often using the word "whatever" to keep
things on the lighter side.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, and her son, Robert (Bob).
Surviving her are five children, C. Thomas (Judy) of Canton, Ohio, Susan (Paul)
Thomson of Elmhurst, Illinois, Peggy Welch of Wilmore, Kentucky, Patti (Jim)
Harpole of Plainfield, Illinois, and Raymond and his life partner, John Kuchta,
of Palo Alto, California. Also surviving are six grandchildren, and two
great-grandsons.
Private Graveside Services will be held today, Saturday, May 13, 2006, in
Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville, Ohio, with the Reverend Chuck
Graham, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Deltona Christian
Church, Deltona, Florida, the Herbert D. Kerman Regional Oncology Center in New
Smyrna Beach, Florida, or the Save the Manatee Club of Maitland, Florida.

MILLER
BAREFOOT BAY, FL -- Homer L. Miller, age 68, of Barefoot Bay, Florida, and
formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, after an
extended illness.
Born in Ashtabula, Ohio, he moved to Barefoot Bay from Ashtabula in 2002. He was
a Veteran, serving as an M.P. in Germany in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960.
He retired from the Rockwell Brake Plant.
Memberships included the Eagles of Ashtabula and Florida, and the Orioles Nest
and Moose of Florida.
Homer enjoyed country music, jam sessions playing his guitar, family activities,
vacationing, especially to sites of interest around the United States, and he
was a history buff.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Miller of Barefoot Bay; his first wife,
Margaret Miller of Chester, Virginia; mother, Elizabeth Richardson of Geneva;
children, William of North Kingsville, Scott of Conneaut, Randy Miller, Connie
Buckel of Chester, Virginia, Pati Coy and Rocksandra Jones, both of Ashtabula,
Donald Richmond of Pennsylvania, Pamela and Laurie Carroll, and Kathleen Abrams,
all of Ashtabula, Edward Geer of Micco, Florida, and Janice Simpson and Lana
Herzer, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 31 grandchildren; one brother,
Melvin Miller of Valrico, Florida; one sister, Lois Fassett of Plymouth
Township; one stepbrother, Wayne Richardson; one stepsister, Vickie Dresnik; and
many nieces and nephews.
Homer was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Miller; daughter, Jerry
Miller; grandson, Daniel Lavant Miller; granddaughter, Isabelle Miller;
brothers, Robert Noyes and Glenwood E. Ickes; sister, Elizabeth "Betti" Newell;
uncle, Homer Miller; brother-in-law, Russell Newell; stepfather, Kendall
Richardson; and his second wife, Patricia Sabo Miller.

ASHTABULA -- Christopher Paul Weir, age 45, of Ashtabula, Ohio,
died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at his residence.
Born on March 27, 1961, in Ashtabula, he was a son of James Weir and Dorothy
(Company) Washington, and he married Robin (Douglas) on May 23, 1979.
He worked for Gabriel Performance Products in Ashtabula as a Chemical Operator.
A Corvette enthusiast, he owned a 1979 Corvette, and went to Corvette shows
every year in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, with his family.
He was a member of the Rod & Gun Club, and the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Weir enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Washington of Ashtabula; his wife, Robin
Weir of Ashtabula; son, Christopher L. (Sherry) Weir of Conneaut; his
daughter, Katlynn Weir at home; three sisters, Anna (James) Perkins and Jamie
(Brian) Mackynen, both of Ashtabula, and Margaret Mauri of Westerville, Ohio;
one brother, David G. Weir Sr. of Ashtabula; and three grandchildren, Brandi,
Jessie, and Mackenszie Wheeler of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Weir.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2006, at the
Ashtabula Home of the FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 526 West Prospect
Road, Ashtabula, with the Reverend Tom McCain officiating.

VINCENT
J. WNOROSKI
CONNEAUT -- Vincent J. Wnoroski, age 85, of Conneaut, Ohio,
died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at the Harrington Care Home in Conneaut.
Born September 28, 1920, in Conneaut, he was a son of the late George and
Felicia (Brzozowski) Wnoroski. In 1937, he received a certificate of service to
serve aboard American vessels, and when duty called, he served his country in
honor as a member of the United States Army in 1942 until he was honorably
discharged in 1946.
In 1947, he and his wife, Ann M. Narducci, married, and then Vince went on to
work at the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad Company as a Yardman. He was a member
of the United Transportation Union, Local 596, and retired from active service
in 1981.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Conneaut Council #627, and was a 3rd
Degree member; the Lake Erie Boat Club; and St. Mary Church in Conneaut.
Mr. Wnoroski enjoyed gardening, especially loved being on the lake, and was an
avid fisherman.
He is survived by two sons, Jon (Carolyn) Wnoroski, and Greg (Christine)
Wnoroski, both of Green, Ohio; a sister, Jane Kapella of Conneaut;
grandchildren, Jennifer, Mary Beth, Patti, Allison, and Anthony;
great-grandchildren, Sara and Abigail; and his friend and guardian angel, Sam
Madonna of Conneaut.
Vince was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann M. (Narducci) Wnoroski;
three brothers, Felix, Frank, and Chester Wnoroski; and a sister, Mary Alyce
Herpy.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2006,
at St. Mary Church, Conneaut, with Father Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial
will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut, at the convenience of the
family.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at the
RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut. The Knights of
Columbus will conduct prayer services at 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Ann and

THERESA L. PAPE
CONNEAUT -- Theresa L. Pape, age 85, of Chestnut Street,
Conneaut, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie,
Pennsylvania.
She was born in Conneaut on January 16, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph
and Lydia (Seppi) Julio. She has resided in Conneaut her entire life.
Mrs. Pape owned and operated Pape’s restaurant with her husband, Paul, for many
years. She was also employed by the former Conneaut Creamery and retired from
the Conneaut General Electric Base Plant in 1971, where she was employed in the
accounting department.
She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, served on the Cabrini
Festival Committee for 25 years, and was also a member of the Alter and Rosary
Society. Mrs. Pape served on the board of the Conneaut Food Pantry for many
years.
She was a world traveler and, in her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting, going
to the casinos, and especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Lana (Lawson) White of Mentor, Ohio, and Lynn
(Gary) Woods of Conneaut; son, Nicholas (Debra) Pape of Tucson, Arizona; 13
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elaine Rockwell of
Conneaut, Joan Fosnight of Ossian, Indiana, and Sandra Carroll of Ft. Wayne,
Indiana; and a brother, Michael Julio of Hudson, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Paul.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at 10 a.m. at
St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, with Reverend Father Raymond Thomas
officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call at the THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main Street, Conneaut,
on Friday, May 19, 2006, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

THERESE P. ENGLISH
MONROE TOWNSHIP -- Therese P. "Lil" English, age 79, of Monroe
Township, Ohio, died Thursday morning, May 18, 2006, surrounded by her children.
She was born July 20, 1926, in Shanghai, China, and was a daughter of the late
Frederico and Kami (Tachi) Remedios. Lil married Gerald C. English on February
15, 1947, and moved to Monroe Township.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, where she was active in the
Council of Women, and also was a member of the Monroe Sirens.
Lil was an artist and enjoyed painting, and also enjoyed animals and gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Margaret (Jerry) Nappi of Austinburg, Ohio,
Barbara (Frank) Adley, and Susan English, both of Ashtabula, Ohio; two sons,
Daniel (Jane) English of Sheffield Township, Ohio, and Christopher (Linda)
English of Hendersonville, North Carolina; two sisters, Grace Stenico of
Huntington Beach, California, and Helena Carion of Weed, California; 16
grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Lil was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald in 2004; and her
sister, Maggie.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at
St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Sheffield Township, with the Reverend Stephen
Wassie officiating. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe
Township.
There will be no calling hours.

PIERPONT -- Gene A. Marcy, age 61, formerly of Pierpont, Ohio,
died early Tuesday morning, May 16, 2006, unexpectedly at his home in
Jacksontown, Ohio.
Mr. Marcy, a son of Clarence and Neoma (Cornell) Marcy, was born December 20,
1944, in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Gene was employed by Rockwell as a Machinist, retiring after more than 31 years
of service.
He was a former member of Pierpont Presbyterian Church, Pierpont Volunteer Fire
Department, and a member of the Eagles Club of Thornville, Ohio.
In his leisure, Gene loved fishing, hunting, working in his garage, spending
time with his family and friends, and playing with his new puppy, Sheba.
Survivors include his mother, Neoma Marcy-Ziegler of Pierpont, Ohio; daughters,
Janeen R. and Danielle M. Marcy, both of Buckeye Lake, Ohio, and Holly J. Marcy
and son, Chris D. Oliver, both of Hopewell, Virginia; brothers, Dave (Joyce)
Marcy of Pierpont, Keith (Marilyn) Marcy of Austinburg, and Calvin Marcy of
Pierpont; his grandchildren, Nicole R. Bradnan and Matthew S. Marcy; as well as
numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Marcy, in 1983; and one
infant brother, Larry.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, May 20, 2006, at the
Pierpont Presbyterian Church, 71 State Route 7, Pierpont, Ohio. Reverend Ed
Diehl, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen
Cemetery in Pierpont.

CONNEAUT -- Nathan Scott Evans, age 8, of Conneaut, Ohio, died
early Friday morning, May 26, 2006, at his residence with his family at his
side.
Born November 22, 1997, he was a son of Roderick "Rod" Evans and Melissa Meaney.
He was currently in the 2nd grade at Lakeshore Primary School in Conneaut.
Nathan loved monster trucks, and he had an amazing collection of monster trucks
and many famous signatures from the actual drivers of those trucks. He loved to
read books and play video games with his family and friends, especially "Sonic
the Hedgehog" video game. Nathan also enjoyed watching and "betting" on horse
races. Recently, he bet and won on the Kentucky Derby winner, "Barbaro," and
also the Preakness winner, "Bernardini."
On April 22 of this year, Nathan made his 1st Holy Communion and Confirmation
with Father Ray Thomas.
Nathan is survived by his father, Roderick "Rod" Evans; his mother, Melissa
Arcaro; stepfather, John John Arcaro, and a brother, John Michael Arcaro, all of
Conneaut; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Evans; maternal grandfather,
Charlie Meaney; maternal grandmother, Nancy Brockett; and stepmaternal
grandmother, Pam Meaney, all of Ashtabula; stepgrandparents, John and Josephine
Arcaro of Conneaut; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Nathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Roger Evans; and
maternal uncle, James Meaney.

GARY J. DREW
CONNEAUT -- Gary John Drew, age 45, of Conneaut, Ohio, died
Thursday, May 25, 2006, in West Springfield, Pennsylvania.
Gary was born January 10, 1961, in Conneaut, the son of Carlton and Vilah
(Chapin) Drew. He attended Conneaut High School and worked most of his life as a
handyman, doing construction, painting and lawn care.
He loved music and playing the guitar, drums and keyboard, and was a very
talented musician. Gary enjoyed art, drawing, and spending time at the creek,
and outdoors hunting and fishing. He also liked to spend time with his family
and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Aaron Drew; and a niece,
Jaime Drew.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Edge Drew of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Aaron
Reed, of Kingsville; two daughters, Candy Burnett of Conneaut, and Patricia Drew
of Cleveland; six brothers, Carl and Sharon Drew of Kingsville, Dale Drew of
Conneaut, Lance and Debbie Drew of Conneaut, Rick and Becky Drew of Battle Mt.,
Nevada, Alan and Jenny Drew of Bogart, Georgia, and Dennis and Rachel Drew of
Conneaut; and four grandchildren, Melody Burnett, Kelsie Burnett, Persayiss
Freeman, and Aaliyah Drew.
