WALTER G. ECKENROD
ASHTABULA -- Walter G. Eckenrod Jr., age 58, of Conneaut, died
Monday morning, November 28, 2005, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. He
was born on July 29, 1947, in Cleveland, OH, and was a son of Walter and
Christine (Deak) Eckenrod Sr.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Eckenrod was employed for 28 years as a conductor
with the Norfolk Southern Railroad, and had also worked at Olsen's Bakery at one
time. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and he enjoyed fishing, golfing, going
to casinos and taking care of his vehicles.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Mooney) Eckenrod, whom he married on May 4,
1968; two daughters, Lisa Randolph of Sheffield Twp., and Lora Eckenrod of North
Kingsville; his brother, Robert of Ashtabula; two grandchildren, Larissa
Randolph and Jared Randolph; and a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held 3 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2005, at the Church
of Christ, 448 W. Main Rd., Conneaut, with Tim Kraus officiating. A memorial
dinner will be held at the church following the service.
MARGARET C. HASSLER
CONNEAUT --
Margaret C. Hassler, age 95, of Conneaut, died Tuesday morning,
November 29, 2005, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 29,
1910, in Girard Twp., PA, and was a daughter of Frank C. and Florence L.
(Lawrence) Lasher.
Mrs. Hassler was a 1928 graduate of Rice Avenue Union High School in Girard, and
was employed as a sales clerk at the former Pelton's Department Store in
Conneaut until it closed. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the
United Methodist Women, and the Conneaut Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sewing,
traveling, playing cards, and especially loved dogs.
Survivors include her husband, J. Gerald Hassler; three daughters, Judy
(William) Sawdy of Cranesville, PA, Sara Jane (Bob) Frato of North Canton, OH,
and Susan (Bob) Weisenbach of Cherry Hill, PA; sister-in-law, Leona Lasher; 11
grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Martin and Clinton
Lasher and her sister, Helen Henretty.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2005, at the MARCY
FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev.
Chuck Graham, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will
be in Girard Cemetery, Girard, PA.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, December 2, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 6
to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist
Church, the Conneaut Rescue Squad or to the Animal Protective League. Envelopes
will be available at the funeral home.
MICHAEL SALLICK
WILLIAMSBURG --
Michael Sallick, age 89, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2005,
at Sentara Williamsburg Community Hospital. He was a native of Conneaut, OH, but
had lived in Williamsburg for 32 years.
Mr. Sallick was a professional civil engineer and a certified land surveyor. He
was employed in the Engineering Division at the National Guard Bureau, Pentagon,
which he retired from in June of 1973.
He served in the Marine Corps. He was a charter member of Crown Colony Club and
a member of the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Mike Sallick; and three
brothers, Paul, George and Bill Sallick.
Mr. Sallick is survived by his wife, Virginia H. Sallick; three daughters,
Loretta Cyphers of Richmond, Texas, Jean Gray of Bedford, and Frances Lyles of
Maryland; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Millie
Dolbow and Virginia Scott, both of Conneaut; two nieces, Kathleen Vespe of
Buckeye, Arizona, and Sandy Laitinen of Conneaut; and one nephew.

FLETCHER, NC -- Ashley Nicole Kauppila, age 21, of Fletcher,
NC, passed away Monday, November 28, 2005, at Mission Hospital unexpectedly
after a brief illness.
A native of Fletcher, she graduated from North Henderson High School in 2002.
She was a licensed electrologist, licensed CNA, and an aspiring RN.
Survivors include her step-father, Scott Emory, and her mother, Catherine A.
Emory of Zirconia, NC; her sister, Brianna Marie Kauppila of Hendersonville, NC;
her father, Brian R. Kauppila of Conneaut; maternal grandmother, Marilyn R.
Diehl; three uncles, P. Edward Diehl and John F. Diehl, both of Hendersonville,
NC, and Ken A. Diehl of Rosman, NC; two aunts, Donna D.G. Stilwell of St.
Augustine, FL and Patricia Lilly of Hendersonville; and a cousin, Tyler B.
Gramley of Raleigh, NC.
A Memorial Service will be held 5:30 p.m., today, Friday, December 2, 2005, at
THOS SHEPHERD'S CHURCH STREET CHAPEL. The family will receive friends from 3 to
5 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
Following the service, a reception with refreshments will be held in the
fellowship hall of Mills River Presbyterian Church.

MARGURITE D. CHANDLER
ASHTABULA - Margurite D. Chandler, 79, of Chandler Road died
Thursday, December 1, 2005, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born March 1, 1926, in Dalton, GA, the daughter of G.L. and Anna L.
Trammels and lived in Florida most of her life, moving to Ashtabula for the
summers nearly 10 years ago.
A nurse's aid for over 20 years, she worked for the Elks Harry Anna Children's
Home and Eustis Memorial Hospital.
She loved nature, taking rides, visiting with her family and children, fishing,
and playing rummy.
Her survivors include her husband, William Chandler, whom she married September
19, 1998; two children, E. Everett (Christine) Thomas, Jr. of Ashtabula and
Elizabeth (Edward) Chandler of Conneaut; eight grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene E. Thomas, Sr.; two
brothers, Ernest and Elwood Trammels; and her parents.
A service will be held 11a.m.,Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at the DUCRO FUNERAL
SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula. Pastor Greg Evans of Open

ASHTABULA -- Lucille M. Baker, age 80, of East 47th St.,
Ashtabula, died Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at the Ashtabula County Nursing
Home.
She was born on August 29, 2005, in North Kingsville, the daughter of Oliver F.
and Goldie Blain (Kitchen) Simmons, and has been a lifetime area resident.
She was a graduate of Kingsville High School in 1943, and attended Warren
Business School in Warren, PA.
She had been a nurse's aide at Park Haven Nursing Home before her retirement.
She enjoyed cats, crocheting, playing the piano, writing children's stories,
cooking, baking and flowers.
Surviving her is her son, Robert Baker of Ashtabula; a daughter, Linda Arcaro of
Andover; three grandchildren, Jodie and Shawn Arcaro and Sherry Widman; six
great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth VanTassell of Sloan, Iowa; and several
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald A. Baker in 1976;
and a brother, Melvin Simmons.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2005, at the ROSS-BILLMAN

MARGARET H. THAYER
ASHTABULA --
Margaret H. (Heileman) Thayer, age 87, of Carpenter Road, died Monday
December 5, 2005, at Park Haven.
She was born in Springfield, Ohio, on January 23, 1918, the daughter of Bernice
(Fullington) and Fronze Heileman.
Margaret worked as a registered nurse at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio,
then Crile Veterans Hospital in Parma. She then met and married Everett Thayer
on January 8, 1948, and moved to Ashtabula, taking a job at the Ashtabula
General Hospital where she worked for many years before retiring.
In May 1958, Marge started the first Tops Club in Ashtabula County, which is
still helping people today. Upon retirement, Marge and Everett loved to travel
taking many bus trips with Marge entertaining her fellow travelers with humorous
stories and funny jokes.
Survivors include her husband, Everett; a son, David of Ashtabula; a daughter,
Mary ( Doug) Stiles; three grandchildren, Laura, Justin, and Amanda Stiles, all
of North Kingsville; a brother, Walter (Maxine) Heileman of Berea; and a sister,
Jean (Art)) Fowles of Homersville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard; sisters, Ruth and Sarah; and
her parents.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 9, 2005, at 12 p.m., noon, at the
Zion Lutheran Church, 2310 West 9th Street, Ashtabula. The Reverend Mark Berg,
Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in
Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.

She was born May 1, 1917, in Conneaut, the daughter of Nicholas and Maria Manz.
Surviving her are six daughters, Marie Riley, Virginia Gagat, Carol Chirakos,
Betty Williams, Catherine Hunt, and Marjorie Baker; many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph Manz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adam Roland; and sisters,
Caroline Manz and Anna Cevera; and a brother, Nicholas Manz.

GERARD A. DRDA

-- Gerard A. Drda, age 72, of Stanhope-Kelloggsville Road,
Sheffield Township, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at his home after a long
illness.
He was born January 3, 1933, in Ashland County, the son of Charles and
Bernadette (Gaumer) Drda.
On August 8, 1957, he married Katherine (Adams) in Angola, Indiana.
He attended school in Cleveland and Linesville, PA. He retired from Elkem Metals
in 1982, due to ill health.
Mr. Drda enjoyed swimming, diving, traveling, jigsaw puzzles, drawing and
collecting coins.
Surviving him are his wife; a daughter, Loree Leslie of Ashtabula; two sons,
Mark (Emma) Drda of Dorset, and Craig A. Drda, at home; six grandchildren, Wendy
Baker, Jennifer and Shelly Leslie, Eric and Jackie Drda; two sisters, Carlene
Drda of Parma and Suzanne (Gary) Bisbee of Meadville, PA; nine nieces and
nephews, Frances (Bob) Telliko, Joseph Drda, Michael (Jody) Drda, Charles
(Leslie) Drda, Christopher (Sue) Drda, Thomas (Mindy) Drda, Patrick Coy, Wendy
Boone and Wayne Drda; 18 great-nieces and great-nephews; a special cousin,
Marcella Borkowski; a sister-in-law, Mary Drda; and a brother-in-law, Gordon
Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert.

MINNIE G. GARRISON
CONNEAUT -- Minnie G. Garrison, age 81, of Wrights Ave.,
Conneaut, died Thursday, December 15, 2005, at her home.
Born in Gem, West Virginia, December 25, 1923, the daughter of the late Clyde
and Lucinda (nee Dean) Wade, she lived in Conneaut most of her life.
Minnie was employed for several years for the former Woolworth's, W.T. Grant
Company, and P and J Variety store as a clerk. She was a member of the West
Springfield Methodist Church and belonged to the Naomie Circle and served as
Worthy Matron twice for the Rose Chapter O.E.S. #22 and Deputy Grand Matron
District #1, 1972. Minnie was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary,
and the B.P.O. Elks #256. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, crossword
puzzles and especially being with her grandchildren and family.
Minnie is survived by a son, Robert W. (Judy) Brown, of Portsmouth, VA;
stepdaughter, Joan (Carl) Pirro, of Saegertown, PA; three grandsons; seven
great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Esda Russell of Oakwood, GA, June (Roy)
Ator, of Lipan, TX, Wanda (Ralph) Jenks, Carol (Robert) Bright both of W.
Springfield, PA, Betty Finlaw, of Espyville, PA, and Coletta Nault, of
Jefferson, WI.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milan B. (1995); two sisters,
Carrie Bowers and Mary Alice Warner; and two brothers, Samuel George Wade and
Lilburn Wade

ANN M. (CHICATELLI) NAPPI
ASHTABULA -
Ann M. (Chicatelli) Nappi, age 82, died December 15, 2005, at her home.
She was born July 21, 1923, in Conneaut, the daughter of Jess and Mary
(Roberto) Chicatelli and had been a lifelong area resident.
She married Frank A. Nappi on November 6, 1944, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Conneaut.
A 1944 graduate of Conneaut High School, she worked at Walter A. Goldsmith Co.
in Conneaut for two years before moving to Ashtabula after World War II.
With her husband, she went into business and owned Frank Nappi's Supermarket for
35 years. She also worked in her son's Roller Den, Nappi's Party Center, and
helped her daughter Cindy at Piero's Pasta House.
She was a member of Mother of Sorrows Church, Alter and Rosary Society, and
Anita Garibaldi Lodge. She also enjoyed her home, her family and friends, and
all kind of sports.
Her survivors include one son, Dennis Nappi of Ashtabula; three daughters,
Patricia (Mario) Guarracino of Ashtabula, Cynthia (JP) Piras of Miami, FL and
Ashtabula, and Francine (Ray) DiDonato of Columbus; seven granddaughters, Tricia
Yaipen, Wendy Nagy, Maria Guarracino, Renee and Ashton DiDonato, and Chelsea and
Nina Nappi; three great-grandchildren, Marco and Ella Yaipen and Lily Nagy.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank on July 19,
1997; four sisters, Lena Prisco, Phil Contino, Agnes Ross, and Florence Bucci;
and three brothers, Nick, William, and Jake Chicatelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2005, at
Mother of Sorrows Church, 1464 West 6th Street, Ashtabula. Rev. Michael Balash,
Pastor of St. Joseph Church, Mantua, OH will preside.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2005, at the
ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula.

BETTY J. NIMELLI
CONNEAUT -- Betty J. Nimelli, age 84, of Conneaut, OH, died
Sunday morning, December 18, 2005, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital. She was born
November 6, 1921, in Conneaut, OH, and was a daughter of the late William and
Hazel (Lillie) Davison.
A 1939 graduate of Conneaut High School, Mrs. Nimelli was a lifelong Conneaut
resident and was employed as bookkeeper at the former Gill Chevrolet dealership.
She was a 67-year member of First United Methodist Church where she served as
treasurer of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Recycled
Youngsters, Jr. Child Conservation League Mothers Club, and Rose Chapter #22
Order of Eastern Star. Her many interests included cooking and baking, playing
cards, bowling, and she was a Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice (Berry) Day of Erie, PA, and Connie
(Thomas) Rockwell of Cleveland, OH; her sister Dorothy Tracy of Speculator, NY;
four grandchildren, Kelly Keeney, Joseph Day, T. J. Rockwell, and Andrew
Rockwell; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Sulo "Pat" Nimelli on Nov.
6, 2002; a sister Katherine Sabo; and two brothers, Murray and Richard Davison.
Funeral service will be at 11a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at First United
Methodist Church, 283 Buffalo St., Conneaut, OH, with the Rev. Chuck Graham
officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville,
OH.

MARTHA CURTISS
CONNEAUT -- Martha Curtiss, age 93 died early Friday morning at
the Harrington House in Conneaut.
Martha was born January 28, 1912 in Springfield, PA., the daughter of Nickolai
and Selma ( Levander) Hautala. She graduated from Rowe High School and worked
various retail clerk jobs in Conneaut. She later ran the Post Office at the
former Harbor Hardware until she retired.
Martha was a member of the Good Shepard Lutheran Church and was very active in
the church. She also was secretary of her ladies circle and enjoyed sewing and
quilting with the ladies of the church. She spent many hours volunteering her
time at the food pantry, arranging library books the the library and quilting at
the 50/50 barn.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roland Curtiss (1986)
three brothers Ray, Lee, Gus and two sisters Lempi and Inez.
She is survived by one daughter Sharon and Bob Wright and a son Roger and Jan
Curtiss both of Conneaut. Seven grandchildren, Kevin, Kara, Kendra, Keith, Kathi,
Phillip C. Humalainen, Karri Pacileo and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2005, 12 noon, at the
RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St, Conneaut with Rev. Frank Gore pastor
of Good Shepard Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn
Memory Gardens.
Family and friends are welcomed to come and visit an hour prior to the funeral
service.

LYLE
R. GAUGH
CONNEAUT -- Lyle R. Gaugh, age 79, of Evergreen St., Conneaut,
died Thursday, December 22, 2005, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital.
Born in Conneaut, November 12, 1926, the son of the late Ira R. and Helen (Rudler)
Gaugh, he had resided here his entire life. Mr. Gaugh was a member of the First
United Methodist Church, and he had owned and operated Gaugh's Barber Shop for
the past 59 years.
He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of
the Conneaut Lions Club for over 40 years and had served as secretary, and
chairman of the Sight Saving Committee for many years. In addition he was
involved with numerous other committees, including the Lions Club Safety Town
Project.
He was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post # 151, and was an avid sports
fan, and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns on television. In his
earlier years he played basketball with Gray's All-Stars. He was an avid hunter
and fisherman, and especially enjoyed going to his hunting camp in Tideoute, PA.
Mr. Gaugh also enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen (Bossard), to whom he had been married for
the past 55 years; a daughter, Pam Grubke of Conneaut; a son, Richard (Becky)
Gaugh of Conneaut; two granddaughters, Hattie Grubke and Sarah Gaugh, both of
Conneaut; four nieces, Judy Shiley, and Sandy Nelson, both of Conneaut, Connie

Conneaut, and Rex Gaugh of Florida; and a grand-niece, Linda Sabo of Saybrook,
OH.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rex Gaugh.

Monday, December 26, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Conneaut Lions Club
will hold a service at 8:30 p.m. Graveside services officiated by Rev. Charles
Graham, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will be held in East
Conneaut Cemetery at a later time and date to be announced. The family
suggests that memorials be made in his name to the Conneaut Lions Club.

FREDERICK R. BROCKWAY
CONNEAUT -- Frederick R. Brockway, age 71, of Conneaut, OH,
died Friday morning, December 23, 2005, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital. He was
born September 23, 1934, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, and was a son of Clyde
and Minnie (Young) Brockway.
An area resident for the past 55 years, Mr. Brockway had sailed on the Great
Lakes before working as a foreman at the former Hercules Packing in
Conneaut. He later retired as crane operator from The Esab Group in Ashtabula,
OH. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #408, and enjoyed
hunting, fishing, Nascar racing, and whittling especially walking sticks.
Survivors include the love of his life Sandra Warren; five daughters, Joni
(Randy) Tackett of Kingsville, OH, Melanie Fitzgibbons of Rio Rancho, NM, Tammy
(Paul) Cutlip of Ashtabula, OH, Amy Brockway of Conneaut, OH, and Karen Barrios
of Akron, OH; two sons, Brandon (Sarah) Brockway of Fayetteville, NC, and Ron
Wolfe of Bradenton, FL; a sister Dorothy (Nyle) Brown and two brothers Donald
"Ike" and Robert (Ilene) Brockway all of Wisconsin. Also surviving are numerous
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Rick; a granddaughter Angel; and
two brothers Al and Douglas Brockway.
Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2005,at the Marcy
Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may

CHARLES P. HEIM SR.
CONNEAUT -- Charles Pat Heim Sr., 83, of Linesville died
Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at Inn Conneaut Rehabilitation Center, Conneaut, Ohio.
He had never fully recovered from injuries he sustained following an automobile
accident on July 23.
He was born March 17, 1923, in Pittsburgh, Pa. and served in the United States
Coast Guard during World War II.
He married Audrey Louise Young, who passed away in 2000. Together, they raised
six children.
He was employed for 31 years by RMI Corporation in the Sodium Plant before
retiring in 1985. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his friends and family and his
cat.
He was a member of the American Legion, Linesville Post, and the Linesville
Sportsmens' Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, a daughter, Patricia Stecki
and a son, Charles Heim Jr.
He is survived by three sons, James Heim, Conneaut, Ohio, William Heim,
Kingsville, Ohio, and Andrew Heim, Meadville Pa.; a daughter Mary
Gustefson, Hagerstown, Maryland; two sisters, Catherine Balogh and Margaret
Young, both of Erie, Pa.
Friends may call Monday, Dec, 26, 2005, from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. at the William
Houghton Funeral Home, 127 Conneaut St., Linesville, Pa. and attend a service
there at 8:30 p.m. following visitation.
Interment in Linesville Cemetery will be private.
MARY ELAINE "CANDY" TODARO
ERIE, PA -- Mary Elaine "Candy" Todaro, age 59, of Conneaut,
OH, died early Wednesday, morning, December 21, 2005, at Hamot Medical Center,
Erie, PA, after suffering a massive coronary.
Mrs. Todaro was born July 4, 1946, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and had lived
in Conneaut for the past 40 years. She was employed in the Quality Control
department of Iten Industries, and was previously head cashier at both the
Kroger and Valu King grocery stores in Conneaut. She was a member and president
of the Women's Auxiliary of Conneaut Eagles #408 where she assisted with
coordinating and planning of events. She enjoyed her family, especially her
grandchildren, bowling, and cooking her famous spaghetti.
Survivors include her mother Mildred Lamp of Erie, PA; her husband Robert D.
Todaro whom she married August 15, 1987; four daughters, Tracy Adkins of
Scottsdale, AZ, Dayna Todaro of Conneaut who is a student at Cleveland State
University, Kelly Sweet and Kathy Jo Ely both of Conneaut; two sons, Robbie
Todaro of Conneaut, and Anthony Todaro of Chicago, IL; three sisters; six
brothers; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Orville Lamp.
Funeral service will be at 1p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at the Marcy
Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, with Tim Kraus
of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory
Gardens, North Kingsville, OH.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Women's Auxiliary of the Eagles. Envelopes will

COOLEY
ASHTABULA - Thomas Calvin "T.C." Cooley, age 81, of Jefferson
Road passed from earth to glory on Saturday, December 24, 2005, at the Ashtabula
County Medical Center.
He was born February 23, 1924, in Vossburg, MS, the son of Luvenia Cooley Nunn
and Earl Nunn. He was an only child and was raised by his grandparents Isom and
Martha Cooley and had been an Ashtabula resident for 57 years.
Prior to his retirement in 1986, he worked as an electrician for Elkem Metals,
previously Union Carbide and Electromet.
Mr. Cooley was a World War II veteran in the United States Navy where he served
in the Pacific from 1943-1946 as a coxswain He was also a member of
Electrician's Union, Local 3081 and AARP.
He enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, working on cars, and being an
"inventor".
His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Magrea "Madge" Gilmore, whom he
married May 9, 1947; four children Theresa (Jimmy Carter) Clark of Los Angeles,
California, Sherry (Lawrence) Faulk of Alliance, Ohio, Donnie (Beth) Cooley of
North Kingsville, and Debra (Michael) Wofford of Ashtabula; seven grandchildren,
Michael Wofford Jr., Callyn Cooley, Jordyn Cooley, Shannon Clark, Earl Clark,
Brooks (J.R.) Clark and Justin Carter; four step grandchildren; Lawrence Faulk
II, Maria Faulk, Fionna Faulk and Tranika Cruz; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his
parents.
A service will be held 11 a.m.,Saturday, December 31, 2005, at the ZABACK-DUCRO
FUNERAL HOME, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Supt. David Howard,
Jr. and Elder Steven Sargent of Hiawatha Church of God in Christ will
officiate.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville.
Calling hours will be at the Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road,

JOAN M. GRABLE
CONNEAUT -- Joan M. Grable,
age 78, of Conneaut, OH, died Monday, December 26, 2005, at her home of a
probable coronary.
She was born May 28, 1927 in Conneaut and was the daughter of Raymond C. and
Gladys R. (Eighmy) Buck.
A lifelong Conneaut resident, Mrs. Grable had been employed at one time at the
former Card Shop and had also worked for 10 years at Premix Corporation.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Salem Rebekkah Lodge
#385, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the Conneaut Senior Citizens. She enjoyed
crocheting and roller skating.
Survivors include her son, Ronald E. (Laura) Grable of Monroe Township, OH; her
grandson, Bryan Rhodes of Cleveland, OH; and a number of more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor D. Grable, in
1997; and her brother, Grant R. Buck.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2005, at the
MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty Street, Conneaut, OH, with
the Reverend Paula Marbury, of East Conneaut United Methodist Church,
officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, OH.
