MARJORIE SWITZER HAMPTON
CONNEAUT --Marjorie Switzer Hampton, age 86, of Conneaut, OH,
died Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital, after a
year-long bout with cancer. Born March 12, 1919, in Akron, OH, she was the
daughter of the late Willard and Ada Switzer, formerly of Akron, OH, and
Sacramento, CA.
She was a 32 year resident of Conneaut, and a 28 year resident of Las Vegas, she
formerly worked in the office of Dr. Laurence Fisher, and was a swimming
instructor at the Y.M.C.A., both in Ashtabula, OH, she also worked as a
pet-sitter in Las Vegas.
Mrs. Hampton was a member of the Las Vegas Wing of the Confederate Air Force and
the Conneaut Historical Society. Throughout her life she enjoyed music, dancing,
bowling, animals, her family, and thrift shopping.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Switzer of Reno, NV; a sister,
Jewel Switzer of Las Vegas; husband, Willard Hampton of Las Vegas; and son,
Walter Pratt, who died on Mother's Day, 2004.
She is survived by her son, Roy Pratt Jr., and wife Dixie of Conneaut;
daughters, Robin Whitely and husband Jim of Short Hills, NJ and Becky Priest of
Canton, OH; grandchildren, Jeff Pratt, Stacey Phillips, Christine Young,
Christopher Whitely, and Ashley, Jeremy and Josh Priest.
A Memorial Celebration will be held Saturday, September 3, 2005, at the MARCY
FAMILY FUNERAL CENTER, 180 Harbor St., Conneaut, OH, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a
time to share memories at 5:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League. Envelopes will be available at
the Family Center and at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208
Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, which is in charge of the arrangements.

ASHTABULA -- Dayjah R. Coleman, age 21 months, died
unexpectedly Tuesday, August 30, 2005.
She was born November 14, 2003, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Dominic Coleman
and Kristy Berry.
A happy little girl, she loved to throw kisses to everyone and was blessed by
Rev. Louis Grandberry and her church family at Peoples Baptist Church.
Her survivors include two brothers, Dominic Coleman, Jr. of Ashtabula and Jordan
Berry of Geneva; her grandparents, Judy Coleman of Ashtabula, Bruce Coleman of
Chicago, IL, and Dallas and Barbara Berry, Sr. of Geneva; her
great-grandparents, Joseph and Loisteen Scruggs of Ashtabula, William Monroe of
Geneva, Sheila Warren of Chicago, IL, and Cleta Berry of Geneva; and a host of
nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Barbara J. Monroe, Ronald
Coleman, and Davis Berry, Jr.
A service will be held 11a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2005, at the
Peoples Baptist Church, 3837 West Avenue, Ashtabula. Rev. Louis Grandberry,
Pastor will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.

MARTHA LOUISE ABBEY KING
KINGSVILLE-- Martha Louise Abbey King, age 97, A Loving Mother
and Grandmother, formerly of Girard, died Friday, September 2, 2005, at the
Ashtabula County Nursing Center in Kingsville, OH. She was born February 22,
1908, in Girard, PA, a daughter of the late Richard D. and Helena Sedler Abbey.
She was a graduate of Battles High School in Girard and Erie Business
College. She worked as a bank teller at Battles National Bank in Girard for 36
years. Mrs. King was a member of the Girard Presbyterian Church where she served
as an elder and deacon for many years. She was a member of the Elk Valley Garden
Club, Order of Eastern Star and various local card clubs.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roderick V. King,
3 sisters and 6 brothers.
Mrs. King is survived by two daughters and a son; Jeanne King Maleckar and her
husband Eugene of Conneaut, OH, Miriam E. King of Jacksonville, FL and David R.
King and his wife Donna of Collinsville, VA;
five grandchildren, Lisa Thacker, John R. Maleckar, Ann Yurco, Todd R. Watts,
and Joshua King. She is also survived by five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Girard Presbyterian Church, 260 Main
Street East, on October 8, 2005, at 2 p.m, with her pastor, Rev. Keith
Gallagher, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Girard Presbyterian Church or Hospice of
Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH, 44119.

CARRIE FAITH RICHTER
CONNEAUT -- Carrie Faith Richter, age 40, of Furnace Rd.,
Conneaut, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, August, 31, 2005.
Carrie was born on May 14, 1965, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Raymond and
Virginia (Wakeman) Simmons and has been a lifetime resident of Ashtabula Co.
Carrie was a member of the Kingsville Presbyterian Church. She was an avid
reader and loved reading the Bible and teaching it's lessons to her two
children. Her other hobbies included gardening, crafts, creative writing and
caring for her animals.
Survivors include her two children, Shayna Thompson and Carla Holcomb, both of
Pierpont; parents, Raymond and Virginia Simmons of Ashtabula; one granddaughter,
Dakota Thompson; one sister, Rebecca Tompkins of Burton; one brother, Marc
Simmons of Phoenix; also surviving are several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at the
CHILDS & WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 96 St. Rt. 7, Pierpont, OH, with the Rev. Bonnie
Habbersett, pastor of the Kingsville Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial

DAVID J. ANDERSON
CONNEAUT -- David J. "D.A" Anderson, age 49, of Conneaut, died
early Friday morning, September 2, 2005, at UHHS Brown Memorial Hospital, of a
Heart Attack. He was born on November 13, 1955, in Conneaut, the son of Alfred
Anderson and Lois (Gillespie) Shumake.
A 1974 graduate of Conneaut High School, Mr. Anderson was a member of the Church
of God, and enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, and go-cart racing with his
children.
Survivors include his parents, Lois and Bob Shumake of Conneaut, and Alfred
Anderson on San Diego, CA; two daughters, Bethany Anderson of Lancaster, OH, and
Sadie Anderson of Conneaut; his son, Jim Anderson of Conneaut; his sister Mary
Lou Pape of Conneaut; and his brother, Jerry (Susan) Anderson of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Sue Anderson; and his
brother-in-law Albert Pape.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at the MARCY
FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev.
Raymond L. Lamb, pastor of the Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in

JEANNE M. LITCHFIELD
CONNEAUT -- Jeanne M. Litchfield, age 67, went to her home in
paradise after a long battle with cancer, Saturday, September 3, 2005. She was
born in Conneaut, OH, on January 19, 1938, to Donald A. and Hazel M. (Humphrey)
Litchfield.
Jeanne lived in Kingsville, Jefferson and Conneaut. She enjoyed playing Bingo,
bowling, doing crafts, listening to music, traveling and bird watching.
Jeanne was baptized in the Presbyterian faith on Easter in 1938, and last
attended East Conneaut United Methodist Church. She was employed at Ash/Craft
Industries and enjoyed working in the Ash/Craft Greenhouse. Jeanne was loving
and loyal to her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her aunt, Amanda Wiley of Conneaut, with whom she made her
home; her aunt Eunice (Humphrey) Harrington of Saybrook; cousins, Bill (Ann)
Wiley of Conneaut, Elizabeth (Craig) Sleesman of Worthington, OH, Chris (Jackie)
Wiley of Conneaut, Heather Wiley of Conneaut, Natalie (Jackson) Kent of Jackson,
TN, Lisa and Brett Sleesman of Worthington, OH; as well as numerous other
cousins; Also surviving are special friends and care-takers Sandra Wiley and
Carol Brown; friends, Rena Hudson, Billy Williams and others; stepniece Diane
(John) Gaul and sons, of Jefferson; stepsisters, Doris (Ronny) Jeffords Weiser
and Carol Noyes; and other stepnieces and family members.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Robert Wiley; grandparents, Charles and
Laura (Mayberry) Litchfield, Edwin and Nellie Humphrey; great-grandmother,
Amanda (Adams) Mayberry Eaton; stepmother, Autumn (Sweet) Litchfield; and a
brother, at birth.
Funeral Services will be at 12 p.m., Wednesday September 7, 2005, at the MARCY
FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev.
Armando Arellano officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens,
North Kingsville.

GENEVA -- Jeffrey L. Nagle, age 33, a resident of Geneva, died
Wednesday as the result of a motorcycle accident.
He was born on April 11, 1972, in Ashtabula, the son of Jean R. Margaret
(Anthony) Nagle Sr.
He was employed by Northeast Masonry as a bricklayer.
Mr. Nagle enjoyed golfing, shooting pool, motorcycling, camping, movies, and
spending time with his family.
Survivors include his mother of Conneaut; sons, Jeffrey Jr. of Conneaut, and
Bryon A. of Geneva; daughter, Sara B. Good of Ashtabula; brothers, Jean R. Jr.
of Conneaut, Anthony J. of Alliance, Thomas D. of North Kingsville, John H. of
Ashtabula, George R. of Andover and Peter R. of Ashtabula; sisters, Jeanne Kurtz
of Levittsburg, Brenda S. of Bildstein of Cleveland and Lu Ann Nagle of
Ashtabula; and 35 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, William R.

HARRY C. MCCLINTIC JR.
ASHTABULA-- Harry C. McClintic, Jr., age 75, of Highland
Avenue, Ashtabula, OH, died Sunday, September 11, 2005.
He was born April 24, 1930, in Jefferson, the son of Harry C., Sr., and Allie
Rebecca (Wagner) McClintic and had been a lifelong area resident.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for DePasquale
and Sons Construction and contracted out for the Ohio American Water Company.
He served in the National Guard and enjoyed watching sports (he was a huge
Cleveland fan), fishing, traveling, visiting his sister in Arizona, and
attending his children's and grandchildren's games.
His survivors include his wife, Harriet (Nelson), whom he married August 7,
1946; two sons, David and William McClintic, both of Ashtabula; eight
grandchildren, Matthew, Cassandra, William, Jason, Michael, Dillon, Lee Ann, and
Christina; one brother, Daniel McClintic of Ashtabula; and one sister, Deanna
Barnes of Mesa, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas; and his parents.
A private family service will be held. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory
Gardens Cemetery, North Kingsville.

Conneaut, OH, died Wednesday morning, September 14, 2005, at Harrington Care
Home in Conneaut. He was born on August 1, 1918, in Conneaut, and was a son of
Ralph and Maude (Hammond) Fails Sr.
Mr. Fails was a 1935 graduate of West Springfield High School, and retired in
1982 as a truck driver from Hammermill Paper Company. He was a member of
Evergreen Lodge #222, Free and Accepted Masons, and had served as trustee at
Conneaut Fire Station #3. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed senior league
softball, bowling, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Kern of Parma, OH, and Janet Irving of
Coeur D'Alene, ID; two sons, Harry Fails Jr., of Alliance, OH, and Marc Fails of
Palmyra, OH; two sisters, Esther Krans of Albion, PA, and Doris Sherman of East
Springfield, PA; his sister-in-law, Margaret Fails of Conneaut, OH; nine
grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Laura M. Fails, on March 17,
2004; a brother, Leon Fails; a sister, Lois Whitney; and a granddaughter, Lisa
M. Irving.

HEINZ K. HALLER
GENEVA -- Heinz K. Haller, age 75, died Sunday, September 11,
2005, at Memorial Hospital of Geneva of complications arising from a long battle
with Alzheimer's.
Heinz was born on June 9, 1930, in Furstenfeldbrook, Germany. He was a Canadian
citizen and was a well known Master Chef and T.V. personality. He became a
permanent American resident upon his marriage to wife Margaret in 1979. He lived
in Kirtland Hills before moving to Harpersfield 15 years ago.
Mr. Haller retired as Executive Chef of Cumis Corporation, Canada. He owned an
ice cream shop in Willoughby before moving to Harpersfield, where he operated
the Covered Bridge Bait Shop and became a certified Alpine Ski Instructor at
Alpine Valley Ski School.
Heinz is survived by his wife, Margaret (Dee); stepson, Littleton Kirkpatrick
IV; stepdaughter, Sarah (Joseph) DeGeronimo; and granddaughter, Leigh Ann
Samuels.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at The United Church, 75 South
Broadway, Geneva, Ohio, at 8 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2005, with Pastor
Robert Cunningham officiating.

ASHTABULA -- Roman M. Beville, age 68, formerly of Cincinnati,
OH, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born on March 2, 1937, in Gainesville, FL, the son of Henry and Marion
(Norris) Beville.
Mr. Beville was in the U.S. Army Reserves, and was a produce manager for Kroger
for 30 years, also working at Mike's Farm Market. He enjoyed working on lawn
mowers and gardening. He was also a past member of the Conneaut Moose Club, VFW,
and Eagles Club.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Nikii) Beville of Memphis, TN; three
daughters, Marchetta (Frank) Fuller, and Melissa (Russal) Newsome, all of
Conneaut, OH, and Janet Beville of FL; two stepdaughters, Beth Speer of
Conneaut, OH, and Viola Alexander of Ashtabula, OH; a brother, Robert Beville of
FL; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; former wife, Judy A. Wright; many
aunts and uncles; and five nieces, of FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Ashley Newsome, in
infancy; and a stepdaughter, Carol Ann Felger.

CONNEAUT -- Bryan W. Morris, age 44, of Mill St., died Friday,
September 16, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Ashtabula on September 24, 1960, the son of Wallace and Sonia
Haag Morris, and had resided in Conneaut for the past 25 years.
Mr. Morris was employed by Giant Eagle as a sales manager for 15 years, and had
also worked for the past several years at K-Mart. He was a graduate of Edgewood
High School, and had attended the Church of God. In his leisure time he enjoyed
using the computer.
He is survived by his three children, Danielle Morris and Jordan Morris both of
Lake City, PA, and Bryan W. Morris II of Columbus, OH; his father, Wallace
Morris of Ashtabula; six sisters, Connie Shepard of Norwalk, OH, Valerie Weiss
of New London, OH, Terri Morris and Cindy Haltwick both of Huron, OH, Robin
Hunnicutt of Tucson, AZ, and Kim Morris of Bethlehem, PA; three brothers, Tim
Morris of Orwell, Ken Morris of Conneaut and Wallace Morris III of Annapolis,
MD.
His mother, and son Daniel Morris preceded him in death.

MABEL C. PAZIORKO
LOUISVILLE, KY -- Mabel C. Paziorko, age 94, formerly of Conneaut, OH, went home
to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2005, at the University Hospital
of Louisville, KY.
She was born on September 11, 1911, in Beaverdale, PA, the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Porada.
Mrs. Paziorko was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Conneaut, for nearly
40 years. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed reading. She empowered
great love for her family and compassion for others, and enjoyed praying for
them also.
Survivors include her son, Adam (Barbara) Paziorko of Louisville, KY; two
grandchildren, Sharon (Hugh) Davis of Copake, NY, and Naomi Paziorko of St.
Louis, MO; two great-grandchildren, Annie and Rebecca Davis; and various nieces
and nephews from Meadville, PA, and Kittaning, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; and two brothers,
Anthony and Adam Porada.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 21,
2005, at St. Mary's Church, 480 State St., Conneaut, with Rev. Raymond Thomas
officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

ALENE SAUERWINE
CONNEAUT -- Word has been received here of the death of Alene Walsh
Sauerwine, age 81, a former resident of Conneaut, OH, who died on
August 20, 2005, at The Hospice Unit of Broward General Hospital, Fort
Lauderdale, FL. She had been in failing health since falling and breaking a hip
at her home in Fort Myers, FL, during a hurricane a year ago.
Born June 20, 1924, in Conneaut, she was the daughter of John and Eleanor
Walsh and was a graduate of Conneaut High School, Class of 1942, and queen of
its senior prom.
She was a Registered Nurse for 40 years, first at Brown Memorial Hospital in
Conneaut, and after moving to Fort Myers during the 1950s, at both Jones-Walker
Hospital and Lee Memorial Hospital there.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert J. Sauerwine, a
former Conneaut businessman; a son, Robert H. Sauerwine; and two sisters, Marge
Brewster and Sue Cooper.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey J. Sauerwine (Cecelia), and granddaughters,
Danielle and Haylee; a daughter, Ellen Selmer, and granddaughter, Lindsey; a
grandson, Robert Christopher Sauerwine; a sister, Joan Joslin; and a brother,
Jack Walsh.
Interment was in the Florida National Cemetery, Webster, FL.

VELMA C. TITUS
KINGSVILLE -- VELMA C. TITUS, age 92, formerly of Conneaut,
died Sunday, September 18, 2005, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Titus was born November 10, 1912, in Conneaut, the daughter of
Charles and Mary (Ostrosinka) Zolnay. Velma attended St. Mary's Grade School and
later went on to work at the former Goldette Women's Clothing Factory and also
at the former Astatic Corporation, in the machine shop. She retired from the
Astatic Corporation with an early disability from a back injury.
Velma was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church. She also was a
former Red Cross Volunteer and Civil Defense chairperson for Ashtabula County.
She enjoyed crocheting, flowers and gardening, and spending time with her
friends and family. She especially enjoyed cooking her famous cabbage rolls and
baking "belish" at Christmas for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Merle L. Titus, whom
she married March 26, 1932.
Velma is survived by three sons, Charles and Millie Titus of Concord Township,
Clifford (Chip) and Shirley Titus of Plymouth Township, and George Titus of
Ashtabula; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the
RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, with Father Raymond
Thomas of St. Frances Cabrini and St. Mary Churches officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2005, from 7 to 9 p.m. at
the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.

DONALD
R. MCBRIDE
CONNEAUT -- Donald R. McBride, 70, of Conneaut, OH, died
Friday. September 16, 2005, at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. He was born
June 23, 1935, in Conneaut, OH, the son of Daniel Sr. and Helen (Wharton)
McBride.
He attended Conneaut High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, in which
he was a mechanic stationed at Camp Irwin and Camp Desert Rock. He was certified
in the detonation and effects of a nuclear device at Camp Desert Rock in March
of 1955. Donald was a conductor, working for the Nickel Plate Railroad for 40
years. Mr. McBride has been married to his wife, Jacqulyn, for 48 years,
marrying on Valentine's Day in 1957. He had a lifetime passion for the
automobile, was active in stock car racing (#7), maintained a collection of
antique cars, and enjoyed showing his cars at various shows, including the
Thursday night "Cruise In" at Conneaut Township Park. Another great hobby he
enjoyed was reading. He was a member of Hudson, Essex, and Terraplane club,
Western Reserve Chapter.
Mr. McBride is survived by his wife, Jacqulyn of Conneaut, OH; two sons, Sean M.
McBride of Erie, PA, and Eric Martin McBride of Conneaut, OH; two brothers,
James (Carleen) McBride of Conneaut, OH, and Daniel M. McBride Jr., of Silver
City, New Mexico; and three grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb, and Darienne McBride,
all of Kingsville, OH.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard McBride.
Memorial Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 24, 2005, at the
Albion Church of the Nazarene, 9580 U.S. Rt. 6 N., West Albion, PA, with the
Rev. Wayne Hennen officiating.

DENNIS R. JONES
LAND O' LAKES, FL -- Dennis Raymond Jones, age 56, passed away
Friday, September 9, 2005, in Land O' Lakes, Florida, surrounded by his loving
family. Dennis waged a 16 month battle with colon cancer.
Dennis was born July 15, 1949, in Conneaut, Ohio, a beloved son of Robert and
Eloise Loomis Jones and a 1968 graduate of Conneaut High School. Following
graduation, he was a 10 year Veteran of the United States Navy.
Upon completion of his Naval Service, Dennis returned to Conneaut. While in
Conneaut, he was employed by SCM in Ashtabula and was also a Volunteer Fireman
and EMT for Station 3 in Conneaut.
In 1981, Dennis moved to Florida and worked for Morton Plant Hospital in
Clearwater as a Mental Health Technician. At the same time, he attended Nursing
School in St. Petersburg to achieve his dream of becoming a Registered Nurse.
Dennis worked at several hospitals in the Clearwater/Hudson Florida area, in the
Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
Dennis was an avid bow hunter and outdoorsman. He was a member of the
Traditional Bow Hunters of Florida Association.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Karen; his parents, Robert and Eloise Jones;
brother, Robert J. and his wife, Terri; step-daughter, Victoria and her husband,
Steven Poore; two nieces, Abbie Colby and Kelly Jones; two nephews, Mitchell
Jones and T.J. Colby; and two step-grandsons, Aidan and Riley Poore. Dennis is
further survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and
Ella Jones, Clarence Loomis and Eloise Beaver.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Dennis' Life will be held Tuesday,
September 27, 2005, at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, corner of State
Street and Mill Street in Conneaut.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dennis' Memory to the new
handicap entrance at the church or to Station 3.

ANTHONY F. WHITE
CONNEAUT -- Anthony (Tony) F. White, age 80, died Wednesday,
September 21, 2005, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
Tony was born August 4,1925, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Frank and Julia (Petriucella)
White.
Tony graduated from St. Mary's grade school, where he also was an altar server,
and then graduated from Conneaut High School, Class of 1944.
He then enlisted in the United States Navy, from which he was honorably
discharged in 1946. He went to work at the former Nickel Plate Railroad and then
went to work for the city of Conneaut in the street department. He also worked
for Emco Wheaton, for 17 years, as a shipping foreman. In his spare time, he
painted houses.
Mr. White was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, American Legion Post #151
and the Veterans of Foreign War. He was one of the original founders of the
Downtown Coaches club, in the mid '70s. Tony played many sports while growing
up, high school football, baseball and enjoyed golfing and was an avid Browns
fan. He also enjoyed carpentry work. He especially enjoyed sitting and visiting
with neighbors and having coffee with the guys at the coffee shop. Tony was
always willing to help others.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles White.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte P. (Anthony) White, whom he married
November 27, 1954; two daughters, Sandy Simpson of Jacksonville, Florida, and
Dr. Bonnie (& Richard) Harris of Charleston, South Carolina; two brothers,
Joseph White of Conneaut, and Valentino Bianco of Elk Grove, Illinois; three
sisters, Catherine Rich of Conneaut, Louise Buckly of Ashtabula and Sister
Theresa White H.M., of Grand Island Nebraska; two grandchildren, Erin Simpson
and Ashton Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 26,
2005, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, with Father Raymond Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut, where the American
Legion Honor Squadron will present full military rites.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m. at
the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut. Memorial

REV. ROBERT E. JARVI
KINGSVILLE -- Rev. Robert E. Jarvi, age 77, of Conneaut, OH,
died Thursday evening, September 22, 2005, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home,
Kingsville, OH, following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 21, 1927,
in Cherry Hill, PA, and was a son of Victor A. Jarvi and Wilhelmina (Tuuri)
Jarvi Maki.
Mr. Jarvi was a graduate of Rowe High School, earned his B.S. Degree from The
Ohio State University, and a Master of Theology degree from Ashland Seminary. He
was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving at the end of W.W. II. He was employed
as a sales manager for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New
York.
He was a member of the East Conneaut United Methodist Church where he served as
lay minister. Following his ordination, he served at the United Methodist Church
in Leon, Bulah, and Kelloggsville. He liked to tinker and make things work, and
enjoyed being in college, reading, traveling, and especially loved his home and
family.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn (Stoker) Jarvi, whom he married May 18, 1948;
two daughters, Susan Smith Jarvi and Karen (Ralph) Anthony all of Conneaut; his
son, David R. Jarvi of Mantua, OH; five grandchildren, Andrew, Benjamin, Erik,
Evan and Austin; also surviving him are two sisters, Elma Newhard and Eleanor
Heine both of Carson, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Toivo M., Rudolph V.,
Martin J., and C. William Jarvi; two sisters, Esther Slomski and Eileen Ross.
Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m., Monday September 26, 2005, at the MARCY
FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH. The Rev. Paula
Marbury, pastor of East Conneaut United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Armando
Arellano will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Glenwood
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday September 25, 2005, from 4 to 6
p.m., and on Monday September 26, 2005, beginning at 10 a.m. Memorial

JAMES A. HILL
CONNEAUT -- James A. Hill, age 49, of Madison Street, Conneaut,
OH, died Sunday, September 25, 2005, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born September 9, 1956, to the late Robert A. and Helen J. (nee: Raciborski)
Hill, he was a lifelong resident of Conneaut and was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church.
James was employed with Lake County Auto Parts for the past two years as Sales
Manager and previously was employed by World Wide Auto Parts for 14 years and
Foust Auto Parts for several years.
He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. James had an interest in
sports cars, loved cats and dogs, and enjoyed listening to country music.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Barbara; son, Colton Hill, at home;
stepdaughter, Crystal Lane, and stepson, Roy Lane, both of Cleveland; brother,
William Hill of Conneaut; and niece, Pamela Wright of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and aunts, Eugenia Raciborski and
Sophia Bordeaux.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the
THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main Street, Conneaut, with Reverend Father

DONALD H. WALBRIDGE
CONNEAUT -- Donald H. Walbridge, age 81, of West Springfield,
PA, died Monday, September 26, 2005, at the Villa at the Lake in Conneaut, OH,
after a long illness.
Donald was born on January 30, 1924, in Cleveland, OH, the son of the late Selah
"Buck" Walbridge and Ruth (Wetzig) Walbridge.
Mr. Walbridge was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II, serving with the
366th Fighter Group as an airplane mechanic and driver. He was employed by the
Nickle Plate Railroad for a time and worked in construction as a heavy-equipment
operator. He retired from the Pittsburgh and Conneaut Dock Co. in 1984. For a
number of years, he enjoyed raising and showing horses, and belonging to the
Triangle "S" Horse Club. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Viola (Kultti) Walbridge; and five
children, Connie Griffith of Etters, PA, Ron (Sheri) Walbridge of Conneaut, OH,
Doug Walbridge and his partner, Cindy Buterbaugh of West Springfield, PA, Wendy
Mlakar of West Springfield, and Terry (Stacey) Walbridge of Edinboro, PA.
Donald is also survived by ten grandchildren, Christina and Joshua Griffith,
Sarah and Seth Walbridge, Derek, Dustin and Drew Walbridge, Alexis Mlakar, Grace
and Jack Walbridge; he is also survived by a brother, Jack Walbridge of Fort
Collins, CO; and a sister, Lola Hovis of West Springfield, PA.
Family and Friends are invited to call at the Federated Church in East
Springfield, PA, on Friday, October 14, 2005, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of
the Life Celebration Memorial Service at 3 p.m., with Pastor Ed Huntley
